What processes must I go through to become a sports photographer?

Being young basically equals being inexperienced, which is not a good thing in the field of professional photography.

Photography depends on physical strength, but experience and touch are much more important.

I used to be a car sports photographer, so I can only say something about my line of work.

1) You must know everything about car sports.

2) Before each shooting, we must first find the floor plan of the shooting site (we usually go to the racing track to shoot) and decide the sequence of shooting locations first.

3) We should know the importance of each race, so as to capture the target conveniently, because it is unrealistic to photograph all the cars in each race (and we usually don't just photograph one race, besides the main race, there are support races of various sizes, and it is not an exaggeration to photograph hundreds of cars a day), so we must capture the target before the race, and try to find out from past experience what the driver will do in which corner and what effect I can photograph.

4) In addition to events, we have to shoot all the tidbits, so we pay great attention to mobility and our own handling of events.

5) The equipment is very important. It is necessary to have a high-pixel mid-to high-end SLR to make up for the lack of focal length (enough to cut the picture closer). In addition, almost all sports photography needs lenses, from ultra-wide angle (including fisheye) to ultra-long focal length (above 400mm), and flash is also essential.
