The Source of Evil —— An Interpretation of Shakespeare and Macbeth
The play tells the story of Scottish army generals Macbeth and Banco who made great contributions to the conquest of rebellion. On the way to triumph, they met three witches who verbally hinted that Macbeth would become king in the future.
Later, induced by the witch's words and encouraged by his wife, his inner desire awakened and expanded, and finally he conspired with his wife to kill King Duncan. The king's sons Malcolm and Donaben had to go into exile, while the wife and children of Banco and noble Macduff were later killed by Macbeth.
Macbeth got his wish and reached the peak of power, but he was suspicious all day and became more and more cruel. Finally, Macbeth was beheaded by Malcolm and other British generals Seward in the Crusade, and the tragedy ended.
From the external factors, Macbeth's tragedy is caused by the witch's words and his wife's encouragement-especially the latter.
It can be said that Macbeth's wife is no less ambitious for supreme power than her husband. The night when the king came to his castle was the best time to do it, so she spared no effort to encourage Macbeth at both ends of the first mouse, and she was articulate. "Are you willing to be like a timid cat, take care of the embellished reputation of your life, make you a coward in your own eyes, and let' I dare not' always follow' I want'?" So Macbeth finally made up his mind.
Macbeth has many excellent qualities, but the witch and his wife bewitched him and soon degenerated into evil.
Of course, the most fundamental reason is the abnormal expansion of Macbeth's own inner desires. "If it's not mine, I don't want it." Macbeth, as a general, has military achievements, and naturally he has to be promoted to rank and rank, winning the hearts of the people. But he shouldn't, shouldn't kill the king and betray his subjects. No matter how good the disguise is, the fox's tail will always be exposed, so it is not surprising that he will eventually become a traitor.
In Macbeth, Shakespeare used a lot of psychological descriptions, which made the image of Macbeth more vivid, strengthened the tension of the drama and paved the way for the tragedy.
In the process of regicide, a lot of psychological activities and narratives revealed his inner contradictions and indecision in decision-making after regicide, and he became more sensitive and suspicious, living in fear and restless. He was afraid of the apocalypse, the ghost of the king and Banco, and lived in fear all the time.
Eager for success, but also eager for failure. Unfair and expansive desire is evil, which gradually erodes the beautiful side of Macbeth's human nature. In the end, only fear, tyranny and indifference remain, and even his wife is dead, and he is indifferent.
As Macbeth himself said, "Life is like an idiotic dream, full of noise and commotion, but meaningless."
His life, especially after regicide, is really full of noise and turmoil, which is meaningless.
Macbeth's tragedy is Shakespeare's allusion to his time, but it also has practical significance today.
Everyone should control his own desires. Once the improper desire expands and deforms, it will easily lead us to the abyss of depravity and sin!
