Introduction of Lu deeds

1On May 8, 1999, the US-led NATO launched a brutal air raid on our embassy in Yugoslavia, and three heroes, Shao Yunhuan, Xu Xinghu and Zhu Ying, died for their country. Although they have left us, their lofty integrity of not believing in evil, not fearing oppression, defending national sovereignty to the death and bravely defending world peace will live in our hearts forever. As the staff of People's Daily, we are equally proud that one of us is an excellent reporter and still fighting in the front line. He is our famous Yugoslav journalist Comrade Lu. He is a comrade-in-arms who fought with San Yinglie. In him, it also embodies the excellent quality of journalists in China. For the sake of peace, justice, journalism of the motherland and the party, he worked hard day and night, fulfilled his duties and lived up to his mission, regardless of public interests and personal safety. At the dangerous moment only ten centimeters away from death, he was the first to report this serious event that shocked the world to China, showing a high sense of political responsibility and a high degree of news sensitivity. Next, I will introduce Comrade Lu's deeds to you from five aspects. China's brother news organizations in Yugoslavia are mostly two or more journalists, and only People's Daily and Guangming Daily are a reporter with his wife. Now, three comrades-in-arms of Xinhua News Agency and Guangming Daily have died. Lu and his wife Zhao Yanping still stick to the war-torn Yugoslavia and insist on reporting. After the attack on our embassy in Yugoslavia, Lu's report shocked readers all over the country. A short message and a feature, such as "Wail in a Foreign Country" and "The Last Farewell", have gripped the readers' hearts. With the pen of grief and indignation, Lu recorded the heinous crimes of the invaders and the indignation of the people of China. In addition to reporting People's Daily, Lv Yansong also writes for the online edition and weekly magazine of Global Times. After NATO began bombing Yugoslavia, the Global Times had nine headlines in a row, all of which were by Lu Yansong, which was unprecedented since the Global Times was founded. Before the Kosovo crisis broke out, Comrade Lu Yansong had been to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo many times, and even met the "Kosovo Liberation Army" in the mountains of Kosovo. It takes a lot of courage, because those radical Albanian radicals are very unfriendly to journalists in China. At the risk of being attacked by Albanian separatists, Xiao Lu went deep into the hinterland of Kosovo, interviewed armed personnel and residents of both sides of the conflict, tried his best to understand the details, and rushed to produce and send back dozens of articles analyzing and commenting on the current situation in Yugoslavia day and night. On March 24, NATO led by the United States launched an air strike against a sovereign country without the authorization of the United Nations. Lu sent an exclusive message back to this newspaper two hours after the air raid, which was published in the first edition of People's Daily that day and was fully affirmed by the relevant departments of the central government. In the next 40 days, regardless of his personal safety, he risked being bombed by NATO planes at any time and went deep into the NATO bombing site many times. Xu Xinghu, a reporter from Guangming Daily, his comrade-in-arms, published an article "China Reporter in the Battlefield" in Guangming Daily before his death, in which a special page was devoted to him. Xu Xinghu said in the article that the bombing site interviewed by Xiao Lu was the largest among all journalists in China. Lu Yan Song went to two residential streets in Surdulica, Gordarica Gorge where international trains were bombed, refugee convoys near Djakovica, presidential residence and Serbian TV station, and also went to many other sensitive areas, where he wrote more than 170 war stories, including dozens of news photos, which timely reported the real situation of Yugoslavia to the people of the whole country and effectively exposed the sufferings caused by NATO bombing to the Yugoslav people. At present, People's Daily Publishing House has edited and published Lu's book My Experience of Bombing the Embassy of China-A Report from the Yugoslav Battlefield. This newspaper is also preparing for Lu's Battlefield Photography Exhibition, and will also publish his portfolio of battlefield photography. After NATO began air strikes, Lu Yansong's work encountered serious difficulties. If nothing else, the press release alone has become a big problem. Because NATO began electronic jamming several hours before each air raid, the communication system in Yugoslavia could not work normally, and Xiao Lu spent a lot of time in each news release, so it can be said that it is common to forget to eat and sleep. His wife Zhao Yanping gave full support to his work, and the contact between the reporter station and the head office was not smooth. She made hundreds of phone calls to help publish the manuscript, and also helped Xiao Lu read a lot of relevant English materials. But like Xiao Lu, she never cares about personal gain or loss.

After the air raid on the embassy, Lu said with great pain that he was sorry for his wife, and Xu Xinghu was sorry for his wife, because as a reporter, their sacrifice may be a professional need, but they should not bring their wife in. What he said was completely from the heart. Before China's special plane flew to Yugoslavia, he strongly wanted to send his wife back to China. He said he had no right to let his wife stay with him under the wings of NATO fighters. Comrade Hu Xijin recalled: "On the phone, I heard him yelling at his wife very sternly: Don't talk, you are dead." In the contact between the International Department and Xiao Lu, the fate of his wife has always been a difficult problem. It is not difficult to imagine how difficult and painful this couple is! After the incident, the situation of the Lu couple has attracted the attention of the whole society. The leaders of the newspaper, the international department and many departments of the newspaper sent sincere and touching letters of condolences to him, and readers all over the country kept calling, telegraphing or faxing their condolences to him. In this regard, Xiao Lu said that he was just an ordinary member of China journalists who stayed in Yugoslavia. Everyone had the same risk probability, and there was no one who was particularly brave. He said that what he did was what journalists' professional ethics required him to do, and other journalists were doing the same, so any special honor was extravagant for him, especially since several journalists had died. When the reporter wanted to interview Xiao Lu himself, he repeatedly said, "Some comrades are dead, but we are still alive. What can we say? If you want to say it, tell more about those dead comrades! " The above is just a part of Comrade Lu's deeds. At present, he also continues to insist on interviewing at the front of Yugoslavia. On May 3, 65438+, when President Jiang welcomed our staff in Yugoslavia, he especially paid tribute to the staff of the embassy in Yugoslavia and the journalists who stuck to their posts. Premier Zhu Rongji, when reading out the commendation decision, said: "Our journalists stationed in Yugoslavia are not afraid of difficulties and sacrifices, and have reported the latest development and facts of the Kosovo crisis in a timely, objective and fair manner", believing that they have shown "the good spirit of journalists" in the new era. This is the highest reward for war correspondents, including Comrade Lu.
