Attractions in Izmir

Izmir is an important tourist city in Turkey. There are many historical sites in the urban and suburban areas, such as the ruins of the ancient Greek city of Efez and the last seclusion of the Virgin Mary. In addition, the ruins of the ancient city of Seljuk have also attracted the attention of Turkish historical experts. The beautiful scenery in Izmir attracts millions of foreign tourists for sightseeing and vacation every year. Cheshmael Beach at the western end of Izmir Peninsula and Bird Island 60 kilometers south of the city are both famous scenic spots in the Mediterranean "Blue Tour". Relying on the unique tourism resources, the municipal government holds large-scale international art festivals and international trade fairs every year, which makes these two activities more and more famous in the world. The ancient name was Bacamon, a small town facing the Aegean Sea. It flourished in the second century BC and is famous for its ruins of the kingdom in the Greek cultural era. The remains are large in scale, with a large round-table theater that can accommodate more than 2,000 people, and many temples, gymnasiums and sports fields are widely distributed.

Bergamon is the capital of this kingdom. At that time, its academic and artistic level was as high as that of Alexandria in Egypt. For example, Bergamon's library is no less than that of Alexandria, with 200,000 books. Egyptian Ptolemy Dynasty was so jealous of this library that it banned the export of specialty papyrus (paper made of papyrus and reeds), while Belga Meng invented a substitute parchment. This kind of parchment was widely used as a substitute for paper in medieval Europe. There are also outstanding artists, known as the Bergamon sculpture, which is a particularly outstanding work in Greek cultural sculpture, but many excavated cultural relics are collected in the Bergamon Museum in Berlin, Germany. For China people, the Aegean Sea is a romantic ocean, which is located in the western part of Turkey and connected with the Mediterranean Sea. The Aegean coast is a region with particularly beautiful terrain in Turkey.

There are many olive groves, steep rocks and vast and elegant beaches surrounded by pine forests on the long coastline lapped by clear water. Pastoral fishing villages are scattered in civilian sanatoriums and ancient civilizations with a history of 5,000 years. Such an area naturally attracts nature lovers, people who yearn for sunshine, photographers, sports enthusiasts, archaeologists and other people, and provides them with various accommodation facilities.
