Friends circle, taking pictures in life, is the pixel of mobile phone enough?

Life is full of photography, and A Mu looks unusual! This is the first basic article of mobile phone photography, and it is also the basic parameter we need to know as a daily mobile phone photography. Many people may suspect that mobile phones take pictures, so what everyone is most worried about is the pixel problem of mobile phones, so let's take a look at the pixels of mobile phones.

For example, this is a photo taken by a mobile phone. When we enlarge this photo infinitely, you will see it on the, er, tip of that roof, and finally you will find it. It is made up of many small squares. What about each small square? There is only one color, and there is no other information. This small square is the basic unit of a photo, which we call a pixel.

How many such pixels will there be in a photo? If the iphone 6 is taken as an example, its width is 3264 and its height is 2448. These small squares add up to 789.2W pixels. When the manufacturer is promoting, he can't tell you that much, so he will usually tell you that it is 800W pixels.

So the total number of pixels of iphone 6 is 8 million. Is this number enough? Then let's do the math.

First of all, is it enough? We still look at it by the standard of printing, that is, we look at it from printing to clarity. Every different printing machine has different printing capacity. How can we describe the accuracy of this printing? There is a standard saying that he measures it this way.

Let's draw an inch-long line and see how many clear dots this printer or this printing machine can print at most in this inch. The more clear dots there are, the higher the printing accuracy that this machine can print, and the clearer the picture will be. We call this unit dpi, which is an abbreviation for the number of points that can be accommodated in two inches. The printing accuracy of each machine is different. We use dpi to describe the accuracy horizontally, and dpi can also be used vertically. In this way, we can put all the points together to form a clear picture.

So, with the concept of dpi, let's take a look again. What is the pixel number of the 3264X2448 we just shot on the iphone 6? For example, a machine that prints photos has a d. p. I of 300. In other words, what can I get by dividing 3264 by 300? You can figure out whether it can print photos several inches wide. Then 2448 divided by 300 is equal to the maximum size of this photo, and it is still a clear photo within this size range.

It can meet the highest accuracy and resolution of our printing machine. This arithmetic problem is actually not difficult. It will be converted into centimeters after calculation. We can see that when a photo is printed at 300 dpi, the largest photo we can take from the mobile phone can be 28X20cm. You can hand-draw this size, and the photos are extremely clear within this size range. There is no problem with the total number of pixels in photos taken by mobile phones, and it will not hold us back.

Well, if it's a magazine, the printing machine of the magazine is generally not so high in accuracy. Generally speaking, it is based on 150dpi, so when printing a magazine, the photos taken with iphone 6 can be printed to 55X40cm. Some people may not know this size. I want to compare it with National Geographic magazine.

In other words, the photos you took with iphone 6, if printed with a magazine printer, will be bigger than four National Geographic magazines and still be extremely clear. As you can imagine, when you submit your photos taken with iphone 6 to National Geographic, printing spread is not a problem at all.

There is also a common printing method called inkjet printing, that is, the married person sticks a wedding photo of Yi Labao or Taiwan X at the door of his banquet, which is a form of inkjet printing. Then the dpi requirement of inkjet printing is generally around 75. When printing on this machine, the photos taken by our iphone 6 can print photos up to one meter wide and 80 centimeters long.

The accuracy of architectural advertisements is very low because we watch them from a long distance. In addition, if we pay attention to it in our life, we will find this. The more large-format inkjet printing and large-format printing, the lower our requirements for accuracy. Because you see from a distance, you can't see so many details at all. So when advertising on the roof or on both sides of the expressway, our printing accuracy can be reduced to as low as 10dpi. Under the requirement of this dpi, the photos taken by our mobile phone can be 8m wide and 6m high. What concept? For example, we asked Yao Ming to stand in front of this advertisement. This advertisement is not a Yao Ming or two Yaos, it is the height of three Yao Ming, and the height of Yao Ming is 2.3 meters. Yao Ming is only one head taller than our building advertisement. All this, don't forget that it was taken by an iphone 6. So iphone 6 is the highest pixel in the whole mobile phone photography industry? Not at all.

In order to ensure a better photo effect, Apple has always been conservative. The latest iPhone 13 series has only 1200W pixels. Huawei P 50 has 50 million pixels, which is not the strongest. Now some Android flagship machine has 65.438+0 billion pixels.

If the photos taken by the 800W pixel iphone can already be used for such a great purpose. Then 5000W is simply a crazy bottom, and its clarity probably far exceeds the level that ordinary people need. So now the pixel of mobile phone is not our problem at all. You can record the data just now, and the next time someone gives you a related question, you can refute his query with good reasons.

Ok, the first basic article about mobile phone photography-whether pixels are enough. That's it. What's the difference between mobile phone lens and camera lens in the next issue? Welcome to A Mu for photography!
