So it's called "slash youth"

Looking through some articles on the internet these days, I often mention a word: slash youth. At first, my understanding of slash youth was superficial: slash is a punctuation mark and should be a code name to describe the youth here, so I think "slash youth" refers to a very powerful, arrogant and angry youth.

Today, when I saw this word again, I went to Baidu to meet the slash youth. It turned out to be so hot on the internet. Slash youth, which comes from English slash, is written by a foreigner with dual occupations, and refers to a group of people who no longer meet the lifestyle of "single occupation" but choose a diversified life with multiple occupations and identities. And these people will use diagonal lines to distinguish themselves in their self-introduction, such as reporter/actor/photographer Zhang San, and "diagonal lines" have become synonymous with them.

Slash youth is becoming more and more popular and has become a lifestyle that young people are keen on. Independent, diverse, interesting and economically independent life. Slash Youth, to a certain extent, broke the restriction and bondage of our traditional single work, released our nature, and devoted ourselves to living a diversified and interesting life.

"Independent, diverse and interesting life, but also economic independence" may be the ideal life that most people yearn for. This is also my yearning for life and the goal I want to work hard for. Young people no longer need to fight for family background, connections or financial resources, but succeed through their own strength and talent. Can not help but make us all eager to become a member of the "slash youth."

How to become a "slash youth" is definitely our greatest concern. I'm not a slash yet, but I'm reading several articles about slash youth on the road, and with some thoughts of my own, I have made the following three summaries:

First, we should have our own hobbies and values.

Mr. Zhou once said: A person living in the world must have something he really loves in order to live an interesting life. If you want to talk about your hobbies at will, most people can say a few. For example, reading, watching movies, sports, traveling and so on. The real hobby is that you can finish it consciously and feel happy when you do it. Many people find it difficult to find what they really like. Even though it is difficult, we still have to find it. Regarding values, I should be able to realize that I need to constantly learn and enrich myself in order to increase my knowledge, improve my ability and make myself more competitive. Instead of muddling along, enjoying stability and looking comfortable.

Second, we should develop hobbies into skills.

Young diagonal members don't simply list occupations, but really have the ability to switch between industries in parallel and gain value. The effort to get value feedback is to have a diagonal line. And the process of owning slashes is not smooth sailing. Only by combining your hobbies and putting your time, energy, sweat and persistence into it can you possibly want to be a slash youth.

Third, find ways to improve your hobbies.

There are many ways of self-appreciation mentioned on the Internet, but you have to find a balance point according to your actual situation in order to better add a diagonal line through hard work and persistence. For example, we should strengthen another hobby besides finishing full-time work, make full use of debris time and so on.

But anyway, although I am not a slash youth, I also want to take a trip to this slash youth. There are too many uncertainties in the future, but this road is worth going on. I wish myself and every friend who wants to have a more colorful life, and cheer for their diversified growth!
