Why don't you like what you are doing?
"Yes, this is what I want."
I have been tossing about this problem for nearly ten years. After doing nine kinds of work across industries, I still haven't gained anything from what I like and achieved something.
How to pursue my favorite ideal life, in fact, many times I didn't think deeply. After three minutes of heat, when the reality didn't develop according to the ideal state, I fell into a panic and walked out of my comfort zone. My first reaction was to run away. I don't like this job. Let's exchange it for a better one.
This can't be solved, and it has recently fallen into this vicious circle. I have been entangled between the lecturer of picture books and the child photographer, and I have not thought deeply about the deep reasons for wanting to change jobs again.
Coach T, my growth mentor, pointed out my most fatal core problem in my pile of questions:
How to ensure that what you like can be recognized by the society, make money and be free, and continue to do it when encountering difficulties?
1. Being sure is the driving force of your favorite things, interests and love.
2. Reflect your sense of value and gain social recognition.
3. Free control of working hours, not bound by rules and regulations.
You can get the income you expect.
These are the four criteria for me to judge whether I am pursuing an ideal job, and are they also your ideal job criteria?
So I don't want to be a picture book lecturer now. I want to be a child photographer. What's the problem?
Choosing to be a lecturer in picture books is what I like, and it can also generate a sense of value and gain social recognition. My working hours are also freely arranged, but I can't make money in this job in the short term, and I can't make money because I haven't accumulated enough money-making ability in the field of picture books.
I find that sometimes it is not easy to know who you really are, to face up to your inner fears and cowardice, ignorance and incompetence, and to need strong inner energy to support and accept yourself. The ideal is full and the reality is skinny. When you find that there is a huge gap between your ideal self and your real self, you will fall into endless pain.
Dare not face up to their shortcomings, encounter difficulties, dare not rise to challenge and break through themselves. Instead, I blindly avoid problems, doubt myself, deny myself, make excuses for myself, and openly put out reasons: "I don't like it, it's not what I want!" "
Looking back on nine kinds of work experiences, I do this every time. When I meet with difficulties, I feel I can't do it anymore. So I found various reasons why I didn't like to escape and thought about changing jobs.
Now, the same drama is staged again. Because I don't have the ability to be a lecturer in picture books, I feel that it is slow and difficult to realize, so I want to be a child photographer and reflect my aesthetic ability, which is faster to realize.
Sometimes I really don't know myself, I don't know whether my ideas are reliable or not, and I don't know how to make a choice. I don't want to do what I want to do, and I won't give up without hitting my head, but no matter what I do, I will definitely encounter difficulties in the process. As a child photographer, can you guarantee that you will not continue to escape after encountering difficulties?
Like things → encounter difficulties → dislike things → change things, how to break this infinite cycle?
Think about it carefully, if I can't solve the problem of how to break through myself in the face of difficulties, then even if I change my new job, I will continue to fall into an infinite loop. Therefore, only by finding out the core of the problem and finding a solution can we break this infinite cycle.
With the help of growth coach T, I found a * * * problem when I jumped ship: all the difficulties I encountered were marketing problems.
I found the core factor of the problem. What I need to do is to face it squarely and try to overcome it. Only when I break through this marketing card point can I enter a positive cycle.
Take the picture book lecturer as an example. The marketing difficulties I encounter now are: fear of one-on-one negotiation and communication, drainage and maintenance of target customers. In fact, if I become a child photographer, I will face the same problem, so my focus now is to exercise my marketing ability. Only by breaking through this point can I make achievements in my work, and I can also transfer this ability and make achievements when I want to change jobs in the future.
So my key question is:
How to exercise your marketing ability, match what you like, be recognized, have the possibility of making money and have freedom?
I understand that the key to the problem is not that I can solve it by becoming a children's photographer, so I have to think about how to solve the marketing problems encountered by being a lecturer in picture books at present.
My next move:
1. Find out 1-3 marketing books and learn one-on-one communication skills and sales skills through efficient reading.
2. Learn Momo's WeChat marketing course, circle of friends marketing and group selling skills.
3. Practice selling knowledge products on WeChat group and WeChat friends.
4. Offline communication, drainage and maintenance of target customers.
5. Polishing and designing personal picture book knowledge products and selling them to accurate target customers.
I think each of us is more or less dissatisfied with our work. We all want to control our lives through change and create the life we want.
The first thing to do is to face yourself and recognize your true self.
I watched the inspirational chicken soup over and over again, made my own slogan and shouted it out. How can I be myself? What exactly do you like? What do you want? What can you do for the expected goal? When encountering difficulties, do you escape or meet them?
Know what you want to do, know where you are wrong when you can't, and have the ability to solve problems.
Will you have the same troubles as me about the choice of work? After reading my self-analysis and solutions, I hope I can inspire you, and I look forward to your leaving me a message to share your views and solutions.
Lifelong study, be yourself! I grew up with you, Jiao Jiao, the picture book therapist around you. Thank you for your attention. See you next time.
