In my opinion, the perfect outdoor snow experience mainly includes two aspects: snow condition and terrain; Among them, the snow situation includes snowfall and snow quality, and the terrain includes slope, drop and diversity. The following explains in detail what kind of experience each element will bring to skiers.

This is easy to understand. Snow lovers who like skiing are always looking forward to heavy snow, and the amount of snowfall is the quantitative standard of this "heavy snow". If the snowfall is not enough, you can't naturally experience the smooth sliding brought by powder snow. When the powder snow slides, it will become denser and become the feeling of a snowy road. Although there is fresh powder snow after the snow, the bottom of the skateboard will contact with the hard snow layer below because of its insufficient thickness, which is what we often call "powder snow with a bottom".

The snowfall in ski resorts in China is relatively small. Although there is so much heavy snow in a year, it is often covered with powdery snow. Although the ski resorts in Japan have a large snowfall, they are small in scale and crowded.

Thermal mass of snow

Compared with the amount of snowfall, the change of snow quality needs skiing experience in many areas to understand. I often hear the word "dry powder" to describe the quality of snow. Snow quality can be divided into dry snow and wet snow, the difference is that the water content of snow is different. The drier the snow, the lower the water content, and vice versa.

So is the snow dry or wet? The drier the snow, the lighter it will be, the lighter it will slide, and it is easier to feel floating. The wetter the snow, the heavier it will be, and it will be very astringent when it slides. Even if it feels motionless, the floating is not obvious. Dry powder snow is easy to splash and smoke, so dry powder snow is the best in powder snow.

The areas selected by CMH are all in the Columbia Mountains, which is known as the Powder Snow Expressway, and between the Canadian coastal mountains and the Loki mountains, which not only ensures sufficient snowfall, but also makes the snow far from the coast drier. Decades ago, when the founder of CMH flew to see the terrain, he thought it was the most suitable area for skiing in the world.

Powder snow is different from mechanical snow trail, which will produce greater resistance, so it needs a certain slope to produce enough speed. The most suitable slope for skiing is between 28 and 40 degrees. Too small a slope produces speed, and too large a slope produces avalanche. Only lines with long enough distance and suitable slope can slide freely.

Because of the complex terrain in the Alps, there are many strange and beautiful peaks and many steep slopes are very exciting, but there will inevitably be flat slopes on the route, which will cause obstacles to skiers, especially veneers. Many mountains in North America are bowl-shaped, with a slightly steep top and a slightly gentle bottom. There are no rugged rocks, but there are very suitable slopes. On the contrary, we call it "Shantoushan", and the slope of the line is not smooth enough, such as Altay in Xinjiang. In short, for powder snow, the mountain is steep and not slow.

Altitude drop

Many skiers who ski around Beijing, because the ski trails in Beijing Ski Resort are too short, "turn a few corners and you will end up" and slowly turn to Chongli. In addition to the slope, the drop is more important for determining the length of the snow trail. Skiing powder snow needs steep slopes, and naturally it needs a bigger drop to avoid fast trips.

The gap between domestic ski resorts is generally small, generally less than 200 meters around Beijing, about 600 meters around Chongli Bandung, and only 800 meters away from Peking University Lake, the largest in China. The Monashees of CMH has a forest route with a drop of more than 1 1,500 m, which is known as the best forest skiing in the world.

In recent years, more and more skiers are no longer satisfied with turning on the snowy road and start skiing in the Woods. Because this obstacle terrain can produce more fun, the diversity of terrain is also an important factor in skiing.

The magic of nature has given us ever-changing landforms. In the 3 million mu ski resort owned by CMH, there are magnificent glaciers, sparse forests, cliffs and grooves, and the pillow line that I most yearn for. Each slide hardly repeats, which can bring endless freshness and excitement. Of course, the richer the terrain diversity, the stronger the technical ability and sliding experience, which is also the direction of our efforts.

Based on the above five factors, the most famous ski areas in the world are: Japan has a good snowfall, 1 and there will be very dry snow occasionally in February, but the mountains are not big enough, so the gap is not big enough and the terrain is not rich enough; There are many mountains in Europe, the gap is leading in the world, and the terrain is rich, but the snowfall is not enough. It is very lucky to catch a heavy snow. Some ski resorts in North America have good hardware conditions, but they are slightly inferior to CMH in all aspects.

Experience the best skiing in the world.

It's the first time to sign up for powder Intro, which is the entry level of CMH. Each group has two guides, one is to clear the way and the other is to close the team. On the relatively open route, the tour guide will take photos and videos of each player, watch the videos for two nights together, and point out everyone's problems and ways to correct them.

The advantage of pink Intro is that there is a guide to close the team, the pace is slow, and there will be no psychological pressure. The first time I went straight skating in New Zealand, I was with xfox, Xiao Nuan and Xiaohu. As soon as the tour guide set out, they disappeared. I always fell down where I couldn't see each other, telling me not to cry every day, and my heart died. It was really a painful memory. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that snow skaters who are skating straight for the first time report to Fenintro to relax themselves and enjoy the fun of powder snow, instead of hearing the guide shout GoGoGo when their thighs are burned and unstable.

Another advantage of pink Intro is that it will leave all the sliding lines to the newcomers. After watching our video, Anakin and Lao Dou, who participated in the signing group, were very jealous. We rookies gave them all the best sliding areas, and no one took videos and photos for them.

On the first afternoon of skiing, I began to doubt my life. I've never skied in such light and deep powder snow, and I feel completely unable to skate. In the past, powdery snow was the deepest at the knee, but here, it is basically in the snow from the waist down. The tour guide took many photos for us, some of which are no different from professional Pro, but we know exactly what it actually looks like. Only with such a large snowfall (7 days 1.55cm) and the best dry powder snow can you feel that you are easily hit in the face. Although I am tired like a dog every day, I have been lamenting your arrival.

We skated in Bugaboos for four days and three and a half days. In two afternoons, the helicopter couldn't take off safely because of the weather, and it slipped 76,250 feet, with the most slipping 10 times a day. The guide told us that we have skied less than 2% of the entire base route, and skiers coming next week and later can ski in areas where we have not skied, ensuring that everyone can ski in virgin land that no one has touched. This is the biggest reason why we are so obsessed with helicopter skiing.

Perfect snow conditions and terrain, coupled with perfect service, make CMH a perfect experience. A product manager who is used to finding faults like me can't find faults at all. Just like the slogan of CMH: "This is the best skiing experience in the world."

I usually call myself an equipment expert, but there are still some problems in the process of CMH straight sliding. Skiing experience is good, and the requirements for equipment are also high.

Snowboard and snowshoes

Snowboarding is the best solution because you don't need to bring a board to CMH. CMH provides atomic snowboards of various widths and lengths (including snowball fights), which will be waxed according to different temperatures and snow conditions. The bottom of the board is smooth, which is definitely better than your own board. And most importantly, if you can't find the board or have any form of damage, you don't have to pay! Therefore, few people bring their skateboards to CMH. Wearing the shoes you usually use is not particularly particular.

Dress

Quick-drying underwear: you must wear high-quality underwear on the ground floor, and recommend the photo series of Archaeopteryx. In the process of sliding, especially after wrestling, you will get fever quickly. Underwear needs to have good air permeability, otherwise you will catch a cold in the humidity and the temperature of MINUS ten degrees.

Intermediate layer: In addition to good air permeability, it also needs certain warmth retention. Dry powder often corresponds to low temperature. If it is windy, it is still quite cold; At the same time, keep moving and release a lot of heat; Therefore, the middle layer should choose different thermal insulation properties according to the temperature in different time periods.

Ski suit: The first and most important thing is waterproof performance. Even if you can promise not to wrestle, because you "swim" in powdery snow, the snow suit with poor waterproof performance will get wet soon, and it will freeze easily at low temperature, which makes it uncomfortable to wear. Straps are highly recommended for snow pants, because the snow is thick and will enter your body from all directions after wrestling, especially from the waist. The snow skirt on the snow suit is basically useless. It is suggested to choose several snowcoats made of archaeopteryx Gore-Tex Pro fabric, which have better performance and are lighter.

Subsidiary part

Gloves are also the most important waterproof property. My gloves were soaked and scrapped on the first day. For safety reasons, it is recommended to wear a helmet at all times, although many foreigners wear wool hats. Glasses are recommended for snow goggles, because visibility is not good when it snows. Fog is almost inevitable, especially when wrestling frequently, it is best to bring an extra snow goggles and change another one when it is foggy.
