Precautions for gastrointestinal angiography examination

It should be emphasized that medical barium sulfate must not be mixed with soluble barium compounds such as barium sulfide, barium chloride, etc. Before application, the barium agent is added to water to prepare a suspension of different concentrations according to the imaging requirements. It is contraindicated when there is gastrointestinal perforation.

The following three points should be noted when performing barium angiography of the gastrointestinal tract;

1. Combination of fluoroscopy and photography. Fluoroscopy can observe gastrointestinal tract images from various angles. In addition to the findings, it is more conducive to the display of minor lesions;

2. Pay equal attention to form and function. Morphological changes are the main basis for diagnosis, but functional changes have certain reference significance;

3. The use of palpation, massage and pressure can cause different filling states of the gastrointestinal tract. Palpate the wall of the gastrointestinal tract to see if it is soft or stiff, with or without masses, tenderness and mobility.
