It is an important coastal central city and coastal holiday tourist city in China, an international port city in China approved by the State Council and a core city in Qingdao metropolitan area, with a total area of 1 1293 square kilometers. geographical environment

Qingdao is located in the south of Shandong Peninsula, between north latitude119 30 ′ ~100 ′ and 35 35 ′ ~ 37 09 ′, bordering the Yellow Sea in the east, Yantai in the south, Weifang in the west and Rizhao in the southwest. Jiaozhou, Pingdu and Laixi are 6,067 square kilometers. Qingdao is located in the northeast edge of Jiaonan uplift and the south-central part of Jiaolai sag, and is the secondary structural unit of New Huaxia uplift.

The whole Paleozoic strata and some Mesozoic strata are missing in this area, but the volcanic rocks of Cretaceous Qingshan Formation are developed and widely exposed in Qingdao. Magmatic rocks are mainly Yuejishan gneiss granite in Jiaonan period of Proterozoic and Ai Shan granodiorite and Laoshan granite in late Yanshanian period of Mesozoic. The urban areas are all located on this granite, and the building foundation conditions are excellent. The structure is mainly fault structure. Since Tertiary, the fault block uplift with stable integrity is the main structure in this area, and the rising amplitude is generally small.
