brief Introduction of the content

This book is a basic theory teaching material of fine arts in colleges and universities, and it is one of the important topics of China Fine Arts Education Department compiled by the Education Science Department of the Ministry of Culture.

This book is an art theory textbook compiled by the National Academy of Art in 198 1 and organized by the Art Education Administration of the former Ministry of Culture. It has absorbed some new achievements in modern and contemporary aesthetics and literature research, combined with various new artistic phenomena and problems since the 1980s, and re-edited an art theory textbook in view of the current literary thoughts of art college students.

The compilation of this book strives to be guided by Marxist standpoints, viewpoints and methods, adhere to the basic principles and principles of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, and adhere to the scientific content and the integrity of the system. Starting from the reality, this paper tries to give a positive theoretical explanation to the artistic problems since the 20th century and the new research topics and artistic phenomena that have appeared in China's literary and art circles in the past two decades.

An Introduction to Art consists of six chapters, namely, the first chapter is artistic essence, the second chapter is artistic category, the third chapter is artistic development, the fourth chapter is artistic creation, the fifth chapter is artistic works, and the sixth chapter is artistic acceptance. It should be pointed out here that although these six chapters are independent, they do not exist independently. They are a whole, a complete system, and there is an inherent logical relationship between the chapters.

First of all, from the big relationship, the first three chapters and the last three chapters can be divided into two parts The first part includes three chapters: essence theory, category theory and development theory, which can be regarded as the general introduction of this book. It discusses the essence of art, the characteristics of various arts and their aesthetic characteristics, as well as the objective law of the occurrence and development of art, and establishes the basic theoretical framework of art from the outside. The second part includes three chapters: creation theory, works theory and reception theory. It goes deep into the artistic noumenon, systematically studies the creative subject, creative activities, creative achievements and the attribution after artistic creation, and reveals the universal law of artistic creation and artistic appreciation. In a word, these two parts are not separated and parallel to each other, and there is an inevitable logical connection between them, which is a systematic process.
