According to the statistics in the early days of People's Republic of China (PRC), the fixed population on both sides of the lower reaches of Minjiang River was 373 1 household, 17235, including 8760 males and 8475 females, with a sex ratio of1:0.967; There are 42 19 households and 10369 people in seven counties such as Changle, Yongtai and Nanping, which flow through the Minjiang River system. In this way, there are 27,604 people in Fuzhou in Minjiang River Basin, not including the coastal people in Luoyuan and Lianjiang. Waterfront population
The Yi people walking through the cracks on the south bank of Zhongzhou Island, and the wooden blocks along the coast are simple houses built by the Yi people. 1907 was taken in Fuzhou. The tradition of the Yi people is to live on a boat all their lives. "Jia Lian Ship" is a neutral title for Yi nationality ships, and "Jia Lian Ship" has also become a non-discriminatory title for Yi nationality. Family boats on the Minjiang River are mostly 5-6 meters long and about 3 meters wide. They are sharp in the front and back, flat and wide in the middle, and covered with bamboo awnings as cabins. Ships connected by family also provide Fuzhou people with a space to work and live. Production labor is on the deck of the bow, and the cabin is the family bedroom and warehouse. People engaged in water transportation will use the cabin as both a cabin and a cargo hold. There is no toilet on the ship, and the stern is a place for excretion. People often use thick bamboo tubes to reach into their legs from their trouser legs to receive urine, and sometimes raise poultry at the stern. Yi people who settled ashore in their early years built dry fence houses on the banks of the river beach. First put a stake on the ground, then put the original family boat on it as a house, or put boards on the stake to build a house. The interior space is very narrow, and this kind of house is called "four-legged building" or "foot-lifting room". Fan Chuan Pu Catholic Church, located on the south bank of Minjiang River, is one of the main places of worship for Catholics in Fuzhou. Early Catholics in Fuzhou believed in Fujian native religions, including Taoism. The only gods they worship are Wuzhu, Snake God, Frog God, Fujian-Vietnam Dragon God, etc. They also believe in or worship Mazu, Neigong, White Horse King, Snail Girl, Wu, Mrs. Linshui and Chen. Mazu played an important role in Yi people's beliefs because of his long-term navigation, and prospered in the inland areas of the upper reaches of Minjiang River with the migration of Yi people. Fuzhou people also spread the White Horse King to Mazu Islands and Neigong to Ryukyu. In addition, some people believe in Buddhism.
Folk Catholicism in Fuzhou can be traced back to17th century, when Catholicism began to move in Fuzhou and established parishes. From the middle of19th century, Catholic missionaries in Europe and America took the people of Fuzhou as an important missionary object and also learned Fuzhou dialect for missionary purposes. The Catholic Church sheltered Da Park Jung Su people who had been discriminated against in the traditional society through the right to protect their religion, helped Da Park Jung Su people who believed in religion to live ashore without being bullied, and set up missionary schools to popularize education for Da Park Jung Su people, which made the influence of Catholicism among Da Park Jung Su people expand continuously and the number of believers increased sharply. After the opening of Fuzhou in the late Qing Dynasty, Protestant missionaries who came to Rongrong found that a considerable number of people in Fuzhou converted to Catholicism. Since then, the proportion of Catholicism in Fuzhou people has been increasing. Until the early days of the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), half of the people who moved to northern Fujian also believed in Catholicism. By the end of the 20th century and the beginning of 2 1 century, the spread of Catholicism among Dalits increased again. Today, the Yi people and their descendants also constitute the main body of Catholics in Fuzhou.
