Li Shizhen.
Li Shizhen (July 3, 1518 - 1593), whose courtesy name was Dongbi. In his later years, he called himself a native of Binghushan. He lived in Tileba, Dongchang Street, Qizhou Town, Qichun County, Hubei Province (today's Doctor Street) He was a famous medical scientist in the Ming Dynasty and was revered as the "Sage of Medicine" by later generations.
"Compendium of Materia Medica" is a traditional Chinese medicine classic written by Li Shizhen that collects the most complete materia medica in China before the 16th century. It belongs to the medical category of the sub-part of "Sikuquanshu".
