Uncle's notes on poor travel chapter 26: graceful mandiu
Today is March 17, the 28th day of poor travel.
Shopping in Banna for four consecutive days was tepid, moderate and not exciting at all. In order to find wonderful things, I almost seize every opportunity to ask people. Today, I finally found a free and worthwhile place, which is Mandiwu.
Mandiu, this name sounds a little strange, even many people have never heard of it. But in fact, it not only has beautiful legends, but also has a lot to say.
Mandiwu is an ancient Dai village with a history of thousands of years and is well preserved at present. Mandivan translated into Dai means: carry it away, not back. Legend has it that a long time ago, there was a strong woman here, and men were not as good as her; Others have to carry or carry their work, and she only needs to lift it gently with her hands. Over time, everyone called this place "Mandiwu".
Although Mandy lives in a corner of gasa town, Jinghong City, she is favored by foreign friends because of its long history, well-preserved ancient villages and numerous Dai cultures. In the last decade alone, many foreign leaders have visited China, including the Arab League's ambassador to China, the Bulgarian ambassador, the President of the Lao National Assembly, members of the US Congress, the African Revolutionary Party, the former Prime Minister of Thailand, and the Vice President of Nepal.
Actually, I didn't know about Mandy before I left today. The owner of an eel rice noodle shop told me that if you want to see the ancient village, you can go to four branches in gasa town.
I took the bus first, and then followed the navigation for two kilometers before I found the quarterback, but I didn't know until I asked: the quarterback is from a farm and all of them are Han people. I want to see the ancient villages and then go to Mandiwu.
The quarterback is just across the street from Mandiwu, but you need to bypass a big fish pond to get into Mandiwu.
Walking slowly along the fish pond and looking at the other side of the river, the scenery is quite charming.
The fish pond area is estimated to be as big as eight football fields, and waves and fish splash from time to time; Rows of banana trees and coconut trees are planted beside the fish pond, and the fruits are numerous and reflected in the pond. The ancient village of Mandi is located in a treasure land surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the water on one side. It is simple and serene in silence.
Stepping into the entrance of the village with carved beams and painted columns, and walking through the long corridor full of flowers, the ancient village everywhere gradually became clear. There is a morning market, a traditional handicraft workshop and a handicraft exhibition hall, all of which were closed because of the epidemic, but this did not affect the overall beauty of the ancient village.
The ancient village is bigger than Manhenna, built on a mountain, with six paths winding through it. Walking up the stairs, we saw a typical wooden Dai building. Most of them are old houses, slightly shabby, but solid and simple; Occasionally there are several new houses. Although exquisite and gorgeous, it does not conflict with the surrounding old houses, but complements each other.
One of the outstanding advantages of these Dai buildings is the huge space. Walk into any house casually, and you will see that the first floor is a spacious space supported by many wooden columns or brick columns, all of which are at least hundreds of square meters; Vehicles and articles can be placed at will, and there is no need to worry about no place to put them. The second floor is the living room, where people rest and sleep. It is said that this structure can prevent moisture and insects, and it is stable and firm.
There is a Buddhist temple at the highest point of the ancient village, which is called "tile" in Dai language.
Dai people all believe in Buddhism, and primitive religion spread to the south. Every stockade has a Buddhist temple, which should be built at the highest point of the stockade. Buddhist temple is an important place for Dai people to hold religious activities and an important carrier of Dai cultural heritage.
There is also a "village heart" in the stockade.
Dai people have built villages for more than 4000 years. Every time they build a village, they will choose an open space and erect a piece of wood or a stone as a landmark; Over time, a tradition has been formed. "Hometown Heart" is the heart and soul of the village. In the minds of the Dai people, "Zhai Xin" is a sacred place. Every March, there will be activities to worship the village heart all over the place, that is, Ghost Festival. During the sacrificial ceremony, every household should prepare tributes and participate in the celebration, but during the festival, people in the stockade are not allowed to go out and outsiders are not allowed to participate.
Compared with Mana, Mandiwu has a strong cultural atmosphere, and the whole village is particularly harmonious, beautiful and quiet. I've visited all six alleys. Pat, look and ask.
People in the stockade are very enthusiastic. No matter what I ask, they try their best to answer. Especially when I was filming an old house, a beautiful young woman came out and asked me: Have you eaten? I was unprepared, immediately said "eat", and then ran away shyly.
To tell the truth, after more than 20 days of poor travel, I have been thinking about how to eat at local people's homes. However, considering that the food may be inappropriate, it may cause embarrassment, and considering the epidemic situation, it may disturb others, so I have never been courageous. But today, the opportunity came and I ran away. Oh, please, I'm embarrassed in Mandiu.
Haha, it's just fun. How can this be a shame? This is a wonderful memory.
I spent more than an hour in Mandu, and bought three bags of preserved fruits, pineapples, bananas and hundreds of fruits in an old house with autocratic preserved fruits. Preserved fruit is fresh and sweet. I took it as a souvenir, ate it slowly on the way, and then began to walk back.
Passing through an ancient village called "Mamba Country", it is no longer worthy of the name; Only one thousand-year-old tree stands out. The tree is like an umbrella, with a huge body, covering an area of 200-300 square meters, and its age has reached 10 18 years. Locals call it "lonely wheat fragrant sand", which translates into Chinese meaning: good luck, abundant crops, and precious as gems. Because this kind of tree opens at the sight of the sun in the morning, shrinks at night and blooms on the occasion of the Dai New Year, the local villagers also call it a sacred tree.
After enjoying the sacred tree, I walked along the path to the village dam head. I picked a big jackfruit on a wild tree by the roadside. After taking it off, I think I blew your wind. Is this a hug? I passed by your road and picked a paramita. Is this stealing?
After picking jackfruit, I passed a fish pond and picked a pile of goat milk by the pool. Goat milk fruit is all delicate and charming, covered with branches, and grows by the pool but no one eats it. Don't pick wild flowers on the roadside, and can't you pick wild fruits on the roadside?
Haha, this day is full of harvest, and my backpack can hardly hold it.
Today's expenses: breakfast fried dough sticks in 6 yuan, bus in 4 yuan, one bag of Dali Garden steamed stuffed bun with drink mineral water 18 yuan, three bags of preserved fruit in 35 yuan 14 yuan, dinner eel rice noodles 14 yuan, and room and board expenses in 29 yuan, totaling 106 yuan. Overexpenditure in total, 29 yuan.
