For DIY, you will need to pay $160 when you complete the DS-160 electronic form application online, and the rest is for information and other miscellaneous fees.

If you want to apply by yourself, you can go to the Immigration Home website. There is a screenshot of a post that teaches you how to apply online. The process is very detailed.

There are three ways to pay, but they only support payments from China CITIC Bank.

Method 1: Use CITIC Bank’s “bank card” for online payment.

Method 2: Choose to pay at the CITIC Bank counter (you need to bring the printed "US Visa Payment Slip" and passport). After the bank payment is completed, you will get a receipt.

Method 3: Choose a CITIC Bank ATM to pay (the last step of the web application will get a CGI code for identification of ATM payment), and you will get a receipt after completion.
