2023 Sichuan-Tibet Line Self-driving Tour Guide (Latest Version)
The Sichuan-Tibet line self-driving tour has always been a route that is favored by young people in China and likes to challenge themselves. Everyone is very keen to seek more exciting scenes and paintings here, and the experience is endless. With the same customs and charm, I will share with you the specific and latest route. 1. Sichuan into Qinghai and out
When traveling to Tibet, people usually enter through the "Sichuan-Tibet Line". In order to avoid turning back, they will exit through the "Qinghai-Tibet Line". Travel friends refer to this route as "Sichuan into Qingchu". The total length of this route is about 5,000 kilometers, and it takes about 16 days to drive while walking. It spans the four provinces/regions of Sichuan, Tibet, Qinghai, and Xining. It is the longest and most scenic route in China. The most beautiful and culturally diverse landscape avenue.
In the picture below, the red line is National Highway 318, which is the Sichuan-Tibet Line; the cyan line is National Highway 109, which is the Qinghai-Tibet Line; the purple line is National Highway 213, also known as Gannan County. 2. Sichuan-Tibet North-South Line
The highway from Sichuan to Tibet is referred to as the Sichuan-Tibet Line. The route from Sichuan to Tibet is not only National Highway 318, but also another National Highway 317. National Highway 318 has a lower altitude, more scenery, and better road conditions. It is suitable for travelers traveling to Tibet for the first time. In comparison, the self-driving environment on National Highway 318 is much more severe and is more suitable for experienced travelers who drive four-wheel drive off-road vehicles.
As shown in the picture below, the red line is National Highway 318, which is called the Southern Sichuan-Tibet Line; the cyan line is National Highway 317, which is called the Northern Sichuan-Tibet Line. Most travelers who drive in Tibet take National Highway 318. 3. Direct travel from Chengdu to Daocheng Yading
The Sichuan-Tibet Line and Tibet have always been the dreams of travelers. But sometimes because of lack of time, I have to go to Daocheng Yading in western Sichuan. The shortest driving distance from Daocheng Yading to Chengdu is about 1,700 kilometers. The one-way drive takes about 2 days, and the round trip and sightseeing take about 5 days.
Daocheng Yading is known as the "Soul of Shangri-La", and its administrative division is divided into: Yading Village, Daocheng County, Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province. In the eyes of foreign travelers, Daocheng Aden is the last piece of pure land on the aqua blue planet. The scenery is primitive and pure. Visiting Aden makes you feel like you are wandering in paradise. 4. Other routes
Tibet is so big that even if you travel in Tibet 365 days a year, you will not be able to see half of the scenery in Tibet. In addition to the regular routes, there are many Tibet tourist routes. For example, the Xinjiang-Tibet Line, the Yunnan-Tibet Line, the Bingchacha Line, the Ngari Grand Ring Line, and the 5-day tour of Namtso on Mount Everest.
The following lines will not be introduced in detail one by one. The last few pictures bring you the elevation maps of the mainstream loop routes for Tibet tourism, including the 318 Sichuan-Tibet Line, the 317 Sichuan-Tibet Line, the Qinghai-Tibet Line, and the Xinjiang-Tibet Line.
