Shenzhen City, where Shenzhen Hanyong Hotel is located, was formerly Baoan County. Bao'an has a long history. Humans have lived and multiplied here as early as the Neolithic Age. It belonged to Panyu in the Qin Dynasty, and Bao'an was established in the Jin Dynasty. After that, its name and affiliation changed several times, until it was renamed Bao'an County during the Republic of China, and it has been used since liberation. . Bao'an is known as the outpost of Guangdong Province in history and has a glorious revolutionary tradition. During the Opium War, Lin Zexu set up defenses here. The Sanzhoutian Gengzi Uprising led by Sun Yat-sen was launched in Sanzhoutian Village, Shatoujiao Town, Shenzhen. During the Anti-Japanese War, the powerful Dongjiang Column in southern Xinjiang was born and operated here. Baoan County was liberated on October 15, 1949. In March 1979, it was changed to Shenzhen City. In August 1980, the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone was officially established. In July 1981, Shenzhen was upgraded to the sub-provincial level. In October 1988, the State Council approved Shenzhen’s separate planning.

Shenzhen is a beautiful coastal city. With an advantageous geographical location, it is the only city in the mainland that borders Hong Kong and is an important channel between Hong Kong and the mainland. The city's total area is 1,948.69 square kilometers, of which 391.71 square kilometers are special economic zones. Shenzhen borders Dapeng Bay to the east, the Pearl River Estuary to the west, Hong Kong to the south, and Dongguan and Huizhou City to the north. Shenzhen is rich in agricultural and sideline products, including Longgang Sanhuang chicken, Nantou lychees, Nanshan peaches, Shiyan sand pears, golden turtle oranges, and Longhua square persimmons. National protected wild animals that inhabit and breed include tiger frogs, pythons, macaques, giant civets, leopards, pangolins, etc. Shenzhen has a coastline of 230 kilometers long and is rich in sea products. Shajing oysters are a specialty of Shenzhen.

Shenzhen has formed a system of tourist attractions with local, natural and cultural characteristics. The main attractions (scenic areas) include Shenzhen Western Maritime Pastoral Tourism Area, Wildlife Park, OCT Tourist Resort, and Mission Hills Golf There are more than 50 places including football clubs and Minsk Aircraft Carrier World. Among them, OCT Tourist Resort and Mission Hills Golf Club are among the first batch of China's highest-level AAAA-level tourist attractions.
