After liberation, Sweden’s first ambassador to China was Almaston
Amaston was an old diplomat. He served as ambassador to China in 1947 and as ambassador to China in 1948. The Philippines also serves as the Minister to Thailand.
On May 9, 1950, China and Sweden announced the establishment of diplomatic relations and the exchange of ambassadors as agreed. Sweden was the first Western country to establish diplomatic relations with New China.
