What are the travel guides to Pianyan Ancient Town?

Pianyan Ancient Town is located between the two remaining veins in the southwest of the Huaying Mountains. It is located in hills, high in the northeast and low in the southwest. The average altitude is 520 meters, with the highest altitude being 942.9 meters. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Liujia, Lili, Jiangbei Hall, and a town was built here in the 24th year of Qianlong's reign. Because there is a rock wall in the north of the town that is steep and sloping, so it is named Pianyan Town.

Pianyan is an ancient industrial and commercial town on the old road from old Chongqing to Huaying. In the past, merchants gathered together, business was prosperous, and it was well-known in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Huguang. Although the times have changed over hundreds of years, its streets, buildings, folk customs, and market conditions still retain the simplicity and elegance of the past. The ancient town is built on the mountains and rivers. Standing outside the town, looking into the distance, you can see the wooden houses and brick houses scattered along the mountains, stacked one on top of the other in a well-proportioned manner.

At the entrance of the ancient town, there is a long bluestone bridge spanning the water. The streets are also paved with bluestones and are about 400 meters long along the Heishuitan River. There are rows of shops on both sides of the street. Most of the shop buildings are made of wood and bamboo structures, with long wooden boards put together as walls, or bamboo fences covered with plaster as walls. In some small buildings built facing the street, the ground floor space is mostly used as a shop. The upper floor of the house is in the form of a stilt-style building, suspended in the air and built on pillars, which not only saves street pavement, but also achieves the design effect of "giving up three feet of land and occupying an extra share of sky".
