How many days are suitable for a self-guided tour of Tokyo in a leisurely way?
If you are just visiting Tokyo, three to five days is enough. The prerequisite, of course, is not to go anywhere else. One day for shopping, one day for visiting various attractions, and one day for you to go to Mount Fuji to see the cherry blossoms, but you have to choose the time right so you can see them!
If time is tight, I would suggest three days is enough, not counting the round trip time of course. If you add it, it will take one to five days. Calculated, it would take seven or eight hours to get to the airport and fly directly without connecting. On your first day, you can go shopping first. The Shinjuku area can be said to be a pretty good tourist and shopping area in Japan. Now Japan’s tax-free policy has been adjusted. Although we don’t do purchasing on behalf of others, there are many cheap and guaranteed authentic things. It’s hard to buy in China. Because most department stores in Japan close at seven o'clock, you can go to places like Roppongi if you have time. It is also the most prosperous area in Japan.
On the second day, I would recommend going to Mount Fuji. It’s not very far, the drive takes about an hour or 80 kilometers. The ticket price is close to 300 yuan compared to most domestic attractions. March and April are the best times to go, but it’s a bit cold. You can basically take a day to see it, and it can be considered one of the best attractions in Japan.
On the last day, you actually have more options, which I personally recommend. If you prefer peace and quiet, there are many good places to choose from. Ibaraki is a small county town about an hour away from Tokyo. It doesn't look very lively, but it's like the pure land of Japan. Because it retains many wooden buildings compared to Tokyo, it feels like you have arrived hundreds of years ago. The mountains, forests and sea of ??bamboo here are also refreshing. It’s also a good choice.
In total, including the return trip, it only takes five days. If you are in a hurry, you can shorten it to four days. If you have more time, you can definitely play a few more days. Enjoy a B&B in the countryside and soak in natural hot springs. I hope you all like this kind of life.
