Folk Dance Course: Tujia "Walking Lotus Boat" Dance

Tujia people's "Tanlian Boat" dance has a long history and is a folk dance loved by Tujia people in Shizhu County, southeast Chongqing. It has a strong regional style and constitutes a beautiful landscape of Tujia folk tourism culture.

During the festival, Shizhu Tujia village likes to play with lanterns and dragons, praying for good weather, peace and prosperity. Tujia people who are good at singing and dancing have created a unique "lotus boat" dance with their life practice, which is flexible, has both form and spirit, and has a strong local flavor. Especially in Tujia mountain village, which lives in Huangshui National Forest Park at the foot of Qiyan Mountain, "stepping on the lotus boat" is a dance of every household.

Lian Fang in "Lian Fang" is a boat-shaped skeleton made of bamboo, colored silk or colored paper, with a hollow bottom and only one person standing in the middle. The top of the boat is as colorful as a lotus boat, and each end of the boat is tied with a ribbon. The Tujia girl who plays the role of "Lotus Girl" has a boat hanging around her waist, and the Lotus girl is dressed in ancient costumes. "Lotus Girl" swings the float back and forth, left and right, as if the lotus boat is rippling on the blue water. The waves are undulating and swaying, shaped like a colorful lotus girl playing in the water. The shape is vivid and realistic. When the lotus boat hangs, the "Lotus Girl" runs and stops, or swings or shakes. Sailors on both sides paddle and break the waves like a thousand oars. In the quaint "Lotus Girl" song, she sang classical poems, myths and legends, praising today's abundant crops and the prosperity of six livestock, while the rest of the staff entertained. Sometimes "Lian Gu" is like "the red butterfly hits the lotus" in the float; When such as "The Queen on the Lotus"; Such as "Xi Shi Huan Sha"; The dance is beautiful and thought-provoking. I only heard gongs and drums ringing, lotus boats rippling, and voices and smiles were full.
