What exactly does the word DT on the passport mean?

The full name of DT is DELETE TRAVEL, which means to cancel the trip. DT is a bad record written by the Hong Kong Immigration Bureau to the holder. It is because the holder does not really fly to a third country, but goes to Hong Kong in this abnormal way. A passport can only be DT twice at most, and the third time will be blacklisted by the Hong Kong Immigration Bureau.

Many people take advantage of the clause that they can stay in Hong Kong/Macao for seven days without a visa and return directly from Hong Kong/Macao after a few days, so their passports will be recorded as bad exit records and will have a "DT".

The second time you go to Hong Kong like this, there will also be a "DT+", which means you didn't pass the second time. Of course, if you pass through Hong Kong for the third time, you must really fly to a third country.
