In Australia on the eve of World War II, British aristocrat Sarah (played by Nicole Kidman) inherited a large ranch. However, another powerful aristocrat coveted her fertile pasture and large herds of cattle and sheep and began to plunder her land through intrigues and tricks. Forced to do so, Sara had no choice but to work with a rough farm worker (played by Hugh Jackman). Together we drive thousands of cattle from pastures across the Australian continent. On the way they have to pass through the most barren and desolate desert areas in the entire country. During their journey across mountains and rivers, the Pacific War broke out. The Japanese army, which had just bombed Pearl Harbor, turned its artillery fire on Australia, and Sarah and Sara were inevitably affected by the artillery fire. In particular, the Japanese bombing of Darwin Port severely hindered their journey.

However, no matter how difficult and dangerous the journey was, the two of them always relied on and supported each other. Gradually, the flame of their love burned with the gunfire in the sky.
