Outsmart Huashan Road

In May 1949, Huayin, Shaanxi was peacefully liberated. Han Zipei, commissioner of the Eighth Administrative Inspection District of Shaanxi Province and commander of the Sixth Shaanxi Security Brigade of the Kuomintang, led more than a hundred of his remnants to escape to Huashan in the south of Huayin County. Huashan Mountain is 2,100 meters above sea level and has a total distance of 20 kilometers. There are many passes along the way. Huashan Mountain has been a road since ancient times. Han Zipei also threatened: "The People's Liberation Army is not a magic general. It has no wings and cannot fly up." He tried to rely on the natural dangers of Huashan Mountain to fight to the end.

There are only small stone holes on the slope that can accommodate the size of toes. Due to the wind and rain, the small stone holes have actually lost their "holes" ("tiger mouth"). (The tiger's mouth is a horizontal groove, more than 10 meters long and no more than 1 meter high. It is like an open tiger's mouth. Under the tiger's mouth is a deep valley dozens of meters deep.) Five dangerous passes and another road go straight to the north peak of Huashan Mountain. The conditions were created to eliminate the remnants of the Kuomintang Han Zipei and liberate Huashan.

This story was later made into the movie "Outsmarting the Huashan". The "Smart Huashan Road" now built on the cliff is basically based on the original road passed by the reconnaissance warriors who liberated Huashan Mountain. It is about 2 kilometers long and has about 4,000 steps. Visitors can take the Huangfuyu Cableway from From the station, you can climb up this road and go straight to the north peak of Huashan Mountain. The completion of Zhizhi Huashan Road ended the history of "one road in Huashan since ancient times" and has also become an important scenic spot for revolutionary traditional education in Huashan tourism.
