Passport:

Travel safety:

Generally speaking, traveling in Europe is safe. But because China tourists like to carry a lot of cash, they are often the targets of theft and robbery. Recently, fake police have appeared in Europe. They usually rob under the guise of checking drugs and counterfeit money as plainclothes policemen. Note that the police are not obliged to check counterfeit money. If you can't tell the truth from the false, you must ask to go to the police station to handle it. Special attention should be paid to cities such as Rome, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam. Especially when taking public transport.

The common emergency telephone number in Europe is 1 12, which is suitable for police or any emergency rescue. This emergency number is free of charge and can be dialed at all telephone booths. As long as the mobile phone has power, you can call this number whether it is connected to the internet or not.

Climate:

Most areas have a maritime climate, with no severe cold in winter and no intense heat in summer. It's rainy in western Europe and rainy in southern Europe. There is a big temperature difference between morning and evening, so you should take more clothes and rain gear when traveling to Europe.

Power supply:

The voltage in Europe is 220-230 volts. European-style power socket is hidden and the plug is round. European standard plugs must be prepared in advance. Better hotels all provide Internet access, and the charge is 1.5 minutes, 2-3 euros. Internet access is also available on cruise ships in northern Europe. Internet cafes are much cheaper, and many cities have them, but they are hard to find.

Tip:

Tipping is not as common as in America. But in order to thank the service staff, you usually have to tip a little.

Convenient:

Public toilets are not very common. There is usually a charge. Prepare some small change in advance. The toilets in restaurants are open to the public in principle. But some unfriendly restaurants will refuse people who don't eat to use the toilet. McDonald's toilets will not be rejected.

Smoking:

High price is one of the measures to restrict smoking in Europe, so the price of cigarettes is much more expensive than that in China. Restaurants, airports, railway stations and other public places are basically non-smoking areas, but smoking areas are usually set up for smokers.

Usually, places where ashtrays are not provided are non-smoking areas. Smoking is prohibited on most European flights. The train has a special smoking compartment, which can be booked in advance.
