In the summer of 1933, the Kuomintang army launched the fifth "encirclement and suppression" campaign against the Central Soviet Area. In the face of the massive offensive by the Kuomintang army, the Central Bureau of the Central Soviet Area and the Central Revolutionary Military Commission made a series of arrangements for the anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggle in the Taining area. On November 27, the General Headquarters of the Red Front Army issued a secret order requiring the Fujian-Jiangxi Military Region to strengthen mass self-defense forces and establish support points in Taining and other places. In December 1933, after the fall of Lichuan, the capital of Fujian and Jiangxi provinces of the Communist Party of China, some organs of the Political Security Bureau of Fujian and Jiangxi Province and its affiliated armed political security teams moved from Jianning to Jixian Academy in Taining. In January 1934, Taining County established a city defense headquarters and a field committee, with Yang Liangsheng, secretary of the Taining County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, serving as the commander and chairman of the field committee. In the same month, the Taining County Committee of the Communist Party of China held a county-wide party member congress at Jixian Academy. The meeting lasted for three days. Commander-in-Chief Zhu De attended the meeting and made a situation report, and Yang Liangsheng also made a work report at the meeting. Under the slogan "Everything is subject to war", the meeting proposed to the people of the county: urgently mobilize and invest in expanding the Red Army; develop local armed forces, attack the defense regiments and the Broadsword Society, and consolidate the Soviet area; do a good job in clearing the country and besieging the occupying Kuomintang. Taining Jixian Academy, the site of the Taining County Representative Conference of the Communist Party of China and the site of the Political Security Bureau of Fujian and Jiangxi Provinces, was formerly known as Sanxian Academy and was founded in the 48th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1709). In the 21st year of Guangxu (1895), Sanxian Academy was destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt the following year and renamed Jixian Academy. In the 21st year of Guangxu's reign, Jixian Academy was changed into a higher primary school. After the founding of New China, Jixian Academy was demolished to build the No. 1 Middle School campus.
