Qingdao is located in the southeast coast of Shandong Peninsula, east of Jiaodong Peninsula, east longitude119 30' ~12100', north latitude 35 35' ~ 37 09'. Qingdao is near the Yellow Sea, facing the Korean Peninsula across the sea, adjacent to Yantai in the northeast, Weifang in the west and Rizhao in the southwest. As of 20 19, the total area is 1 1282 square kilometers. It governs 7 districts and 3 county-level cities.

The Yellow Sea is located in the western Pacific Ocean, between China and the Korean Peninsula. The average water depth of the Yellow Sea is 90 meters, and the seabed is relatively flat, with most water depths exceeding 60 meters.
The Yellow Sea is the narrowest from Jiaodong Peninsula to Changshan Mountains in Korea. It is customary to divide the Yellow Sea into two parts: the North Yellow Sea covers an area of about 8 10000 square kilometers and the South Yellow Sea covers an area of about 409000 square kilometers.
The northwest of the Yellow Sea is connected with the Bohai Sea through the Bohai Strait, the east is connected with the Korean Strait through the cheju strait, and the south is connected with the East China Sea from the Qidong corner on the northeast coast of the Yangtze River estuary to the southwest corner of Jeju Island.

The main administrative regions bordering the Yellow Sea are Liaoning, Shandong and Jiangsu provinces in China, Sinuiju in North Korea and Incheon in South Korea.
