From Guiyang to Kaili, take the fastest highway 145 kilometers. Among them, the Guixin Expressway is 102 kilometers from Guiyang Xiaobi to Majiang; Majiang is diverted to the Kaima Expressway for 43 kilometers to Kaili. The expressway continues 10 kilometers east to Kaili East and exits at Sankeshu to connect with Provincial Highway 308.

Kaili City is the capital of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province. From the perspective of road traffic, Kaili has just entered the gate of Qiandongnan. There are many routes to get in, and the routes are different from each other. Connections form connections between places within the state and outside the state. From a tourism perspective, you may wish to consider visiting several points to design a suitable route.

1. Self-driving tour from Chongqing to Zhenyuan

Reasons: The totem-like ancient town of Tai Chi is well-known in ancient and modern times; the landscape of Wuyang River Scenic Area is as pure as the jade of a small family; the Shidong style is popular along the Qingshui River. The village is the sole leader of the Miao family. On this route, you can not only see the traditional national style, but also appreciate the charm of the combination of Han and Miao cultures. There are also Shibingshang Wuyang River, Shanmu River rafting, etc. It's a route worth taking.

Zhenyuan is also a town that the Hunan-Guizhou Railway passes through. The Chongqing-Shanghai and Beijing-Kunming long-distance trains pass by, making it more convenient for traveling.

I once drove to Zhenyuan, but unfortunately the time was short and I didn’t have an in-depth experience. However, I basically understood that there are four main driving routes to Zhenyuan.

Description of the self-driving tour routes to Zhenyuan

I have driven through these four routes.

Article 1. From Kaili to Taipan is National Highway 320, a cement road; from Taipan to Zhenyuan is a county road, asphalt road. The Qingshui River Ferry can carry 6 to 8 vehicles at a time (the ferry is 1 km away from Shidong Town and 3 km away from Pianzhai. Further ahead is the gravel road to Taijiang County. Cross the river at the ferry and pass by Mahao. The road turns over You can see the railway after reaching Zhenyuan.

The second one is the route I took to Zhenyuan during the Spring Festival in 2005. It is National Highway 320 from Kaili to Wulipai (Qingxi). However, Kaili is being built along the line. The Jade Expressway had a greater impact on the section from Taijiang to Wulipai. I didn’t know there was a first route at the time, and I didn’t see any direction signs when I passed through Taipan. When I asked for directions when I got to Taijiang, all the short-distance drivers were there. Answer: The road from Taijiang to Zhenyuan is blocked! The Provincial Highway 306 is an asphalt road from Wulipai to Zhenyuan. It passes through Jiaoxi Town. Wulipai is the starting point of Provincial Highway 306. The road follows the Wuyang River and the Hunan-Guangxi Railway to Zhenyuan. .

The third route is the route from Zhenyuan back to Kaili at the same time as the second route. It is mainly composed of oil roads, with complicated road numbers, including provincial roads and county roads. There are other scenic spots on this route, with strong Miao and Gejia customs (on the west fork road in Shibing County, the direction sign goes to Yuqing County for 55 kilometers, and then goes through Dawujiang Town to Meitan. There are many gravel roads, so you need to choose carefully. Take National Highway 326 to Zunyi. Dawujiang Town is the point of the red travel route.

This section of road is marked as a province on general provincial maps. Route 304, but there are no mileage markers on the accurate traffic map or on the ground. It is a gravel road. After passing through Guanma, it goes over the mountain. After going down the mountain, it enters Provincial Highway 306, which is 10 kilometers away from the town. The road over the mountain may freeze in winter. The road is closed.

If you go directly to Zhenyuan from Kaili, I recommend taking route 1, which is available in all seasons.

2. Self-driving tour from Chongqing to Liping

Reason: The core area of ??Li, Cong, and Rong Dong culture in southeastern Guizhou, the origin of the Tong people’s songs, and the Duliujiang River area south of Liping is rich in ethnic customs. The site of the “Liping Conference” is the starting point of Guizhou’s red tourism route. The Red Army was there. The Long March entered Guizhou from Tongdong County in Hunan, where the famous meeting was held. Liping County has Zhaoxing Dong Village in the south and the well-preserved Longli Ancient Town in adjacent Jinping County in the north. It is the three regional airports in Guizhou Province. One was opened to navigation before the National Day in 2005, and the construction of tourist facilities developed rapidly.

During the Spring Festival in 2005, I planned a self-driving route from Duyun via National Highway 321 and down the Liujiang River in Duyun. , went to Longsheng, Guangxi to take pictures of the terraces. On the way, we changed from Yin to Zhenyuan. In September of the same year, we drove to Liping, Longli and other places. All three routes were smooth.

Instructions on the self-driving road to Liping

The first route is walking in Qiandongnan Prefecture. The entire asphalt road was completed not long ago and the road condition is in good condition

The second route was taken when I returned from Longli to Kaili. However, when walking, the road was passable from Sansui to Zhenyuan and then from Taipan to Kaili. It should be noted that Provincial Highway 311 from Liping to Jinping is an asphalt road that passes through Longli. It was completed and opened to traffic not long ago. It is definitely not Provincial Highway 202 that passes through Conghua Town as marked on some maps. That is wrong!

Item 3. I have not yet walked the 320 National Highway along the Liujiang River, so I can’t say more about it, but this route is well worth driving. After Routes 1 and 3 reach Rongjiang, you can continue along National Highway 321 to Congjiang and then to Longsheng, Guangxi. Although Zhaoxing Qianhu Dong Village is 72 kilometers south of Liping City, it is generally more convenient to go there via this line. To go directly to Jinping Longli Ancient Town, you should choose route 1 to Liping first. Two of the four existing ecological museums in Guizhou are in Qiandongnan Prefecture, Longli and Tangan are located, both on this line.

Of course, there are many routes to the landscape and ethnic customs in southeastern Guizhou, and what I have mentioned is only part of them. Before planning a route to southeastern Guizhou, you should also have some understanding of the timing of various ethnic festivals, and choose the appropriate season to see the wonderful ethnic festivals.
