Guangdong Tourism Press was established in 1981, and is managed and organized by the Guangdong Provincial Tourism Bureau. In 1992, with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, it was converted from a public institution to an enterprise unit, becoming the first publishing company in the country to realize the transformation of its operating mechanism. In 2000, Guangdong Tourism Publishing House was placed under the Guangdong Tourism Group Co., Ltd., and the supervisor and organizer was changed to Guangdong Tourism Group Co., Ltd.

For more than 30 years, Guangdong Tourism Press has published a variety of books, albums, guide maps, calendars and other publications, with hundreds of millions of copies printed. Over the years, the reprint rate of Guangdong Tourism Publishing House has been around 70%, reaching 80% in the past two years.
