Zhao Gong Town - a historical town formed to commemorate Zhao Gong, located in the northeast of Fufeng County, Shaanxi Province. This town has a local name called "Ju Village" because Zhao Gong was here during the Zhou Dynasty. It is named after the forum for lectures and is one of the five major towns in Fufeng County. Today, many local people still call it by its old name.

Zhaogong Town is adjacent to Qian County and Wugong County in Xianyang area. Since ancient times, it has been known as "the three counties that can be heard when the cock crows". The town has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages, 8,083 households, 34,123 people, and a total area of ??42 square kilometers. The town has convenient transportation, Tianjiang Highway and 209 Provincial Highway Tourist Line pass through it, where merchants gather and circulation is active. The hard-working people of Zhaogong carry the cultural virtues of the civilized ancient town and emit the fragrance of thousand-year-old Gantang.

Speaking of this "Ju Village", we must first talk about a historical celebrity, that is, Zhao Gong during the Western Zhou Dynasty.

Zhao Gong was a fighting politician in the early Western Zhou Dynasty. According to the "Fufeng County Chronicle": "30 miles northeast of the county, there are Zhao Gong historic sites. Today is Zhao Gong Town, also known as Zhao Village, and its common name is Ju Village. The temple of Duke Zhaokang is here. "According to research, in 830 BC, after King Wu of Zhou defeated Zhou and destroyed the Shang Dynasty, he appointed Duke Zhaokang as his right minister. Duke Zhao opened a mansion here and planted Gantang trees. He often listened to lawsuits, judged prison sentences, and educated the people under the tree. He also gathered his servants, soldiers, and local people in the hall to give lectures and discussions, learn the etiquette of the Duke of Zhou, and discuss the ways of learning. He created the education model of "learning in the government" in the Zhou Dynasty.

One of Zhao Gong’s hobbies is planting chrysanthemums. People who knew his hobby often helped him plant them, and a chrysanthemum garden gradually formed in the local area. Every autumn, when the chrysanthemums bloom and turn golden, there is an endless stream of visitors, and the local area gradually forms a small market town. Later, people called this place "Zhaogong", "Zhaocun" or "Jucun".

This is why "Zhaogong Town" is also called "Ju Village"!

After the death of Duke Zhao, later generations thought about his legacy and wrote a poem to protect the Gantang tree from being cut down, saying, "Hide the Gantang tree, don't cut it, don't cut it, it's what Zhao Gong did." Around 1810 AD, this Gantang tree was still there, 13 meters high and about 4 meters thick. Later, during the war, both the "Gantang Mansion" and the Gantang tree were destroyed.

Zhaogong Town has a history of more than 3,000 years since the Western Zhou Dynasty. The profound cultural accumulation and superior natural conditions suitable for farming have made Zhaogong Town a place with simple folk customs, prosperous Confucianism and talented people since ancient times.

Today’s Zhaogong Town is one of the five major towns in Fufeng County. The town has a population of 34,123 people and an area of ??42 square kilometers.

All the hard-working and intelligent people of Zhaogong Town are carrying the cultural tradition of the thousand-year-old town, emitting the fragrance of the thousand-year-old Gantang, and walking proudly on the broad road of building a new socialist countryside!
