The Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor is the mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan, the ancestor of the Chinese nation. It is the only Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor recorded in the official history of "Historical Records". It is one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units, "No. 1 ancient tomb", and the national level scenic spot, the first batch of national AAAAA level tourist attractions, and the first batch of national patriotism education demonstration bases. Known as the "No. 1 Mausoleum in the World", also known as the "No. 1 Mausoleum in China" and "The No. 1 Mausoleum in China", it is located in Beiqiao Mountain, Huangling County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province.

The Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum was called "Qiaoling" in ancient times. It was a place where emperors and celebrities of all ages in China worshiped the Yellow Emperor. The earliest sacrifice to the Yellow Emperor in history began in the third year of Qin Linggong (422 BC). Qin Linggong "made Wuyang Shangji, dedicated to the Yellow Emperor." Since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty personally led an army of 180,000 to worship the Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum in the first year of Yuanfeng (110 BC), Qiaoshan has been the place where successive dynasties held national sacrifices and preserved various cultural relics from the Han Dynasty to modern times.

The ancient cypress group in the Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum is the oldest, largest and most complete ancient cypress group in China, with more than 80,000 trees, of which more than 30,000 are over a thousand years old. The "Cypress Planted by the Yellow Emperor's Hands" located in Xuanyuan Temple is more than 5,000 years old. According to legend, it was planted by the Yellow Emperor himself. It is the oldest cypress tree in the world and is known as the "Father of Cypress Trees in the World" and "Crown of Cypress Trees in the World".

On March 4, 1961, the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor was announced by the State Council as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units, and was designated as "Ancient Tomb No. 1". In July 1997, it was announced as one of the first batch of national patriotic education demonstration bases by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee. In May 2002, it was listed as a national scenic spot. In May 2007, it was listed as the first batch of national AAAAA tourist attractions.

In 2006, the Qingming Festival Ceremony for Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor (Yellow Emperor Mausoleum Ceremony) was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists. In November 2013, Shaanxi Province fully launched the "Yellow Emperor Mausoleum Ceremony" application process for the World Intangible Cultural Heritage List. In August 2014, the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor was included in the application for world cultural heritage.
