Gong Minya Konka is located south of Kangding, Sichuan Province and is the main peak of the Snowy Mountains. There are 45 peaks with an altitude of more than 6,000 meters in the surrounding area, and the main peak stands at the top of the peaks with an altitude of 7,556 meters. It is 6,000 meters higher than the Dadu River on its east side and is known as the "King of Shu Mountain". The main peak is composed of granodiorite. Affected by the ocean monsoon, it forms a diverse vegetation and natural ecological environment. There are two sister canyons winding between the mountains: Yanzigou and Hailuogou, among which Yanzigou is also known as the Eastern Alps. The snow line of Gongga Mountain is 4,600 to 4,700 meters above sea level, and the glacier development scale is large. Hailuogou Glacier, the largest on the east slope, is 14.2 kilometers long and reaches 2,850 meters at the end. It has fallen into the forest belt. Under the long-term glaciation, the peak has developed into a cone-shaped large-horned peak, surrounded by cliffs of 60° to 70°, making it difficult to climb. . In 1932, the American expedition successfully climbed. The Chinese mainland mountaineering team reached the peak in June 1957.
