What are the types of tourist towns in China?

Tourism characteristic town is a town characterized by the implantation of cultural tourism industry. According to the different status of cultural tourism industry in cities and towns, Forward-looking Industry Research Institute divides the towns with cultural tourism characteristics into three types.

First, tourism drives. Tourism is dominant, unique and attractive in terms of resources, and other industries are underdeveloped. Wuzhen and Gubei water towns are typical representatives, which need to be built with the concept of globalization to realize tourism from scenic spots to the whole world.

Second, dual-industry type. That is, the tourism industry and characteristic industries are superimposed and integrated, and the tourism function is relatively perfect, belonging to a compound characteristic town. Hengdian Film and Television City, which focuses on movies and tourism, is a typical representative. This type needs to fully explore and enlarge the theme features, expand elements and extend functions.

Third, tourism is subordinate. That is, the distinctive characteristic industry foundation, tourism is a subordinate industry, and its tourism function is relatively weak, belonging to a production-oriented characteristic town. At present, both fund town and socks town belong to this type, so it is necessary to make use of the existing economic base to promote the integration of urban tourism and enjoyment of host and guest.
