Hebei Tourism Vocational College is the first batch of public full-time higher vocational colleges approved by the Ministry of Education, located in Chengde, Hebei, a world famous historical and cultural city.

The college was approved by the Hebei provincial government in June 2006 and was formed by the merger of Chengde Vocational College and Chengde Tourism Vocational College. Chengde Vocational College, the predecessor of Chengde Vocational College for Nationalities (renamed in July 2004), was founded in 1999 by the merger of Jehol Agriculture and Forestry College founded by 1950 and Chengde University founded by 1985. It is the first batch of public full-time higher vocational colleges with higher education enrollment qualifications approved by the Ministry of Education. There are 833 on-the-job teaching and administrative staff in the college, including 9 professors, 2 12 teachers with associate professors and senior lecturers, 270 teachers with intermediate titles, 67 teachers with master's and doctor's degrees, "double-qualified" teachers accounting for 38% of the total number of teachers, 6 top-notch professional and technical talents at provincial and municipal levels, and 1 person teachers enjoying government subsidies in the State Council.

The college has four campuses in the north and south, covering an area of 6 1 1 mu, with a construction area of 240,000 square meters. The first phase of the new campus of Chengde Development Zone was completed and put into use in July 2007, with standard sports venues such as football, basketball and volleyball. It has 53 modern teaching laboratories, including computer network, PLC, NC machining workshop, CAD/CAM training room, electronic information center, bioengineering, animal anatomy, soil analysis, simulated guest room, simulated restaurant, high-standard e-commerce and logistics. There are more than 40 practice and training bases such as farms, pastures, veterinary hospitals, greenhouses and nurseries. Library collection1860,000 volumes. The total value of fixed assets is 260 million yuan.

The college has twelve departments of tourism, English, management, horticulture, bioengineering, animal husbandry and electromechanical, and three departments of basic, social science and adult education.
