"Tunisia 214" Tunisia people (with tips)
Tunisia is located in the northernmost part of Africa, but I haven't seen any black people during the whole trip, because more than 9% of them are Arabs, and most of them are descendants of Europeans. Although Tunisia's economy is among the best in Africa and Arab countries, its urban development is far less developed than that of our big cities such as Shanghai, and it even feels a little poor. But in these days in Tunisia, what I always feel is the leisure and enjoyment of life of the local people. In fact, Tunisia is rich in resources, but not too much to exploit. We can think that they are lazy, but what do diligent Chinese people get? Do they go to other countries to enjoy other people's clear water and blue sky and live a leisurely life?
Tunisia has a good public security and simple folk customs, and we are deeply impressed by the enthusiasm of Tunisia people. Finally, we show photos of local people during our trip.
At the Grand Mosque in Kailuwan, two boys volunteered to take pictures of them, and let us take their image back to the far east. Tunisia implements compulsory education and university education is free, so children don't have to worry about further education.
In the hotel restaurant in Tozer, I just took a picture of the restaurant. When I came back, I found a gentleman in the distance smiling at me when he saw me taking pictures.
At the Great Waterfall in Tozer, I met a local tour group, and they enthusiastically asked us to join them when they took a group photo.
In front of the hotel in Tozer, a little boy and a little girl are playing on motorcycles. Children in Tunisia are "dolls", especially the little girl who has become a group photo star, while the children's adults are not around. After a while, the girl's father appeared, and when he saw that his child had become a star, he walked over and said "thank you".
While wandering in the streets of Medina, Mamat, a boy was playing motorcycle in the street, and the white building next to him was actually a barracks.
When the boy saw us taking pictures at him, he turned back to show off his driving skills in front of us.
Later, I ran into several young women who were also traveling and offered to take a photo with us. Tunisia is relatively open in Arab countries. Women no longer need Baotou in non-religious places, and there are not so many taboos in dealing with men.
Later, while resting with LP on a beach bench, I met an unexpected thing. A pair of tall and powerful men in black stopped in front of us on a cool motorcycle and spoke English to us. They didn't speak English well, and our English level was even worse. At first, we didn't understand what it meant. Later, I found that the motorcycle said "police", and I understood that it was asking if we would like to take a photo together. The police took the initiative to ask for a photo, which is the first time in 2 countries they have visited. However, LP's photo shoot was rejected. They only took photos with men, and being a man was finally proud. Moreover, they must personally check the photo effect and find it "good" before leaving. The national image is very important.
But not all Tunisia people's enthusiasm is free, and sometimes there is a "gentle knife" hidden. This strange-looking man makes money by taking photos with tourists. The flowers on his head are said to be for you, but they are actually charged. There are also shops in tourist attractions, and basically they have to bargain from one tenth.
But most shops and supermarkets usually bid on the actual price.
Dates are one of the local specialties, which are produced in some local palm trees. After picking, just air-dry it directly, without processing, and it tastes the same as candied fruit.
I searched for a long time in the old town of Mamat before I found a date palm shop.
It was an old handsome boy and a handsome boy who looked after the store. After talking, they knew that they were grandparents and descendants of Italy.
Dates are classified according to the grading price, the best is 8 dinars/kg, and there are 2 kg boxes packed in paper boxes in advance. After checking, the pre-installed and placed things are the same, without any fraud.
The handsome guy was so handsome that he couldn't help taking a photo together. The old handsome guy crowded in with great interest and specially changed a pair of cool sunglasses.
handsome guy is still a little shy.
Later, there came another handsome boy, who should be the younger brother of the handsome boy. He looked much more outgoing, and he did not forget to advertise his shop when taking photos. "Welcome to Tunisia, welcome to my date palm shop."
finally, let's talk about our tour guide Emile. French descendants in their forties (214) still live a single life in a country where they can marry two or three wives. He is a typical representative of simple Tunisia people. Although he can't speak Chinese, he respects his duties and responsibilities throughout the trip. Because it was inconvenient to buy water, he gave each of us a bottle of mineral water every morning when we set out, which solved our drinking problem. At the service station in Duzi, many league members (including LP and her friends) rode desert motorcycles in local costumes. After the boss took photos and printed them, they bought them voluntarily at 4 dinars each. But we didn't buy any, because we all took pictures. Emile bought it at his own expense, and on the last day, it was handed over to me one by one, which was really touching.
Tips:
1. Domestic banks don't have the business of exchanging dinars, and Tunisia can't directly exchange RMB for dinars, so we need to exchange it for euros or dollars in China now, and then exchange dollars or euros from Tunisia for dinars. Before returning to China, you can change dinars into RMB at Tunisia airport, but coins can only be kept as souvenirs.
2. Domestic GSM mobile phones are compatible with Tunisia, and you can make calls freely by opening international roaming before going abroad.
3. Tunisia Hotel has simple toiletries such as soap and shower gel, but you should bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers.
4. Generally, wireless Internet access is available in the lobby of hotels, and many of them are free.
5. The voltage in Tunisia is 22V, and the socket type is the same as that in Europe. It is a "German standard" plug converter.
6. The hot and cold water in the hotel bathroom is not drinkable. When you use the buffet in the hotel restaurant, there will be mineral water on the table, which can only be drunk in the restaurant, but generally no one will object if you want to take it away. If you want to drink hot water, you can only bring your own hot water kettle.
7. Tunisia is also very warm in winter, but there is a big temperature difference between day and night, a big stroke in the desert and a strong sunshine in the Mediterranean, so sunglasses, hats and windbreakers are indispensable.
