In 1245 AD, Pope Innocent IV convened a religious conference in Lyon, France. After Bai Lang's guest failed to persuade him to return to China, he compiled what he saw and heard along the way into the book "Emissary to Mongolia".
Anzang
Anzang (AD?-1293), a Uighur people from Jimsar, Xinjiang, was a famous translator in the Yuan Dynasty. His translation is the Buddhist classic "Treasures on the Theory of Theory" (10 volumes). In addition, he also translated "Zi Zhi Tong Jian", "Zhenguan Zheng Yao", etc. into Mongolian, so that Kublai Khan, the founder of the Yuan Dynasty, could use it as a Reference for formulating policies and laws.
Haitun
Haitun (AD?-1271), king of Little Armenia (now Turkey). In 1251 AD, Meng Ge, the son of Tolei, the fourth prince of Genghis Khan, became the Great Khan of Mongolia. In 1254 AD, Haitun led a delegation to Dadu to pay homage to the Great Khan Meng Ge. After Haitun returned to China, he asked his attaché Gangdesekqi to compile what he saw and heard along the way into a book "Haitun Travels".
Li Daoyuan
Li Daoyuan (466-527 AD) was born in Zhuoxian County, Hebei Province today. "Shui Jing Zhu" records 1,252 waterways. This book has great reference value for studying the historical geography, history, ethnicity and other aspects of Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia and Xinjiang in the ancient Silk Road.
