The Natural Resources of Xinmin Township

Xinmin Township is located in the transition zone of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and belongs to the plateau landform type. The whole terrain is high in the west and low in the east, with hills in the middle. The territory is dominated by mountains, and hills and dams are scattered among them. Valley dam area is the main rice producing area in Panxian county, and hilly area is the main flue-cured tobacco producing area. The ratio of hills, hills and dams is 65: 17: 18. Animal husbandry and aquaculture in Xinmin Township will surely develop at a high speed. Because of the climate, Xinmin Township has always been rich in corn and rice. The lower valley has high temperature and low altitude, abundant sunshine and fertile land, which has always been the main rice producing area in Panxian County. In recent years, the high-quality rice planting experiment has passed the inspection of the quality supervision, inspection and testing center of rice and its products of the Ministry of Agriculture, and it is planned to be popularized in a large area. Flue-cured tobacco, rape, canna taro, ginger, fruits, peanuts, virus-free potatoes, early-maturing vegetables and other cash crops provide broad development prospects for farmers to increase their income and become rich.

The reserves of mineral resources are large and the development prospects are attractive. Xinmin Township has huge coal reserves, with proven reserves of 87 million tons and prospective reserves of more than 500 million tons. It is a high-quality anthracite base with many kinds of coal, good coal quality, shallow burial, easy mining and no damage. At present, there are five certified coal mines in the township, and the coal is exported to Guangxi, Sichuan, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions. At the same time, it is also one of the important suppliers of electric coal for Pannan Power Plant in the future. Other mineral resources such as iron, zinc, phosphorus, limestone and clay also have great development value.
