The present situation of folk culture

Development Status of Folk Culture in China

In the development of folk culture in China, it is accompanied by ethnic integration, ethnic wars, ethnic migration and natural disasters. Folk culture is constantly changing. At the same time, with the development of productive forces, modernization and globalization, the foundation and humanistic conditions on which folk culture depends for survival and development have also changed, and a large number of folk cultures have been lost and declined. Specific performance in the following aspects:

First, the assimilation of folk culture. Originally, most of the ethnic minorities in China were located in the border areas of the motherland, with little communication with the outside world, and the customs and cultures of all ethnic groups were well preserved. However, with the vigorous development of ethnic tourism, our folk culture and tradition gradually disappeared under the influence of various factors and were replaced by other ethnic and regional cultures. In some backward and culturally unstable ethnic minorities, folk culture is likely to be gradually diluted or even died out.

Second, the commercialization of folk culture. Due to the unique folk culture in some areas of China, it has become a huge business opportunity for the development of tourism. It is to develop and utilize China's folk culture as a tourist resource and then sell it to tourists. In this way, China's folk culture has become a commodity and a means of making money, losing its original meaning and hindering its further development.

Third, vulgarization of folk culture. As a tourist resource, folk culture is often exaggerated to meet the needs of tourists, even to cater to some tourists with low taste, and does not respect the self-esteem and religious feelings of ethnic minorities. Moreover, in the process of tourism development, there is a lack of scientific grasp, the form of expression is simplified, and the simplicity and nationality of folk culture can not be truly expressed, which leads to the vulgarization of folk culture in China.

Fourth, the fault of folk culture inheritance. China's folk culture has a long history and has been handed down from generation to generation. In the process of tourism development, copying mechanically will inevitably lose the original simplicity of folk culture. Moreover, in the process of tourism development, the original residents often need to move on a large scale, which leads to the destruction of the "native soil" on which folk culture depends for survival and development, thus making the inheritance of folk culture fault or even disappear.

Fifth, the weakening of folk cultural identity. The development of folk culture depends on people's recognition of culture. In the process of tourism development, some people are influenced by foreign customs, and their awareness of goods and money is deeply rooted in people's hearts, and their recognition of folk culture is weakened or even disappeared. This will inevitably lead to the consciousness and decline of folk culture, which will seriously affect the continued development of folk culture in China.

It can be seen that the current situation of the development of folk culture in China is not optimistic. We must fully understand the importance of folk culture, formulate positive countermeasures and vigorously promote the revival and development of folk culture in China.
