Guangxi University of the Arts is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is one of the eight comprehensive general undergraduate art colleges in the country. It is currently a university jointly established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, an outstanding university in the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of Education, a Guangxi characteristic advantageous university, a Guangxi doctoral unit project construction university, and a national central and western university basic capacity building engineering university.

In the past five years, it has won 3 special prizes, 17 first prizes, 16 second prizes and 5 third prizes in the autonomous region-level teaching achievement awards. It has won one "New Engineering" research and practice project from the Ministry of Education, two of the first batch of new liberal arts research and reform practice projects from the Ministry of Education, and one of the second batch of industry-university cooperation collaborative education projects from the Ministry of Education.

Currently, the school has 5 members of the Undergraduate Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, one of whom is the deputy director, 4 chairmen, 4 secretaries, and 20 members of the Guangxi Undergraduate Teaching Steering Committee.

Teachers and students have won professional performances at all levels and types such as the "Golden Bell Award", "Wenhua Award", "Peacock Award", "Peach and Plum Cup" and "Lotus Award". It has won a large number of awards in exhibition competitions, including 25 Guangxi Bronze Drum Awards for Literary Creation in the past six years. A total of 46 works were selected in the 13th National Art Exhibition. The "Lijiang Painting School", with the school's art teachers as the main body, has developed into a cultural brand that goes global and has made important contributions to expanding the influence and popularity of Guangxi.
