How to use a ruler in the quality department

The ruler of the quality department is vernier caliper, and its usage is as follows:

Vernier caliper is a commonly used instrument for measuring length in industry, which can be directly used to measure the length, inner diameter, outer diameter and depth of workpiece with high precision.

Overview of vernier caliper:

As a widely used high-precision measuring tool, vernier caliper consists of a main ruler and a sliding vernier attached to the main ruler. According to the scale value of the vernier, vernier calipers can be divided into three types: 0. 1, 0.05 and 0.02 mm.

Reading method of vernier caliper: Taking a precision vernier caliper with a scale value of 0.02mm as an example, the reading method can be divided into three steps; According to the zero line of the auxiliary ruler, read the nearest whole millimeter number on the left main ruler; According to the zero line of the auxiliary ruler, multiply the number of scribed lines aligned with the scale on the main ruler by 0.02, and read out the decimal; Add up the integer and decimal parts above to get the total size.

How to use vernier caliper;

Put the measuring claws together to see if the zero scale line between the cursor and the main ruler is aligned. If it is aligned, it can be measured; if it is not aligned, zero error should be recorded: the zero scale of the cursor on the right side of the zero scale of the ruler is called positive zero error, and the zero scale on the left side of the ruler is called negative zero error (this adjustment method is consistent with the adjustment of the number axis, and the origin is positive to the right and negative to the left).

When measuring, hold the ruler with the right hand, move the cursor with the thumb, and hold the object with the outer diameter (or inner diameter) to be measured with the left hand, so that the object to be measured is located between the outer measuring claws, and when it is close to the measuring claws, it can be read.
