Coastal areas are hot and humid in summer and warm in winter. Masaad Castle. Masaad is a holy place for Jews and one of the United Nations World Heritage Sites. Located on the top of a rocky mountain at the junction of Judea Desert and the bottom of the Dead Sea, about 25 kilometers north of Engedi. The cliff on the east side is about 450 meters high, from the top of the mountain to the shore of the Dead Sea. The cliff on the west side is about 100 meters high. The top of the mountain is flat and rhombic, about 600 meters long from north to south and 300 meters wide from east to west, and the surrounding city walls are about 1400 meters long. The natural road to Masaadeh is extremely steep, the most important of which is the "snake road" on the east side.
