Interesting attractions in Shaoxing Jinghu Wetland Park

Shaoxing Jinghu Wetland Park is located in Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City. It is the first national urban wetland park in Zhejiang Province. There are many historical and cultural relics in the park, including Meishan, Chacha Lake, Shuntang, Shinan Pavilion and other scenic spots. Next, let’s introduce it in detail!

1. Meishan

Meishan is named after Meifu. Mei Fu, whose courtesy name is Zhen, was born in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province. "Shangshu" and "Spring and Autumn" are county literature, supplementing Nanchang Wei. He resigned and returned to Shouchun. At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, when Wang Mang was in power, he passed away happily. People thought he was a god, changed his name, and traveled around eastern Zhejiang. At that time, malaria was rampant in Kuaiji County and people were panicked. The beautiful woman personally collected the medicine and prepared the prescription. Within a few days, the epidemic was brought under control and then lifted. Someone wrote a poem, saying: "When malaria enters the mountains, I take herbs to rescue them." Today, there are Meishan and Meili in Shaoxing, both of which are named after Fu.

2. Jiaocha Lake Pond

Chasha Lake, located on the north side of the park, is the largest natural freshwater lake in Shaoxing, with an original area of ??4.29 square kilometers and an existing area of ??2.23 square kilometers. The lake is slightly rectangular, 3,000 meters long from north to south and 2,500 meters wide from east to west. It is commonly known as seven miles straight, seven slants, eight horizontal miles. Yacha Lake is famous for its abundance of Yacha fish, which has local characteristics. There is a national cultural protection unit in Yacha Lake, avoiding the pond. Baitang was built in the Ming Dynasty and was repaired several times in the Qing Dynasty. It still exists today. With a total length of 3.5 kilometers, there are five stone bridges and a stone corridor pavilion on the pond, including Tianji, Puji, Deji, Pingji and Zhongji. The protection of ancient bridges and the addition of new bridges will be one of the important ways and carriers for Jinghu New District to inherit its history and culture.

3. Shinan Pavilion

Shinan Pavilion is located on the top of Meishan Mountain. It was originally built by Shoucheng Shimeng of Xining County in the Northern Song Dynasty. Lu You's grandfather, Lu Dian, a famous scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty, wrote the famous "Shi Nan Pavilion". During the Southern Song Dynasty, the governor Wang Gang rebuilt the castle. In the late Ming Dynasty, Qi Biao's family letter "Yue Zhong Garden Pavilion" listed it as one of the scenic spots in the North District. After the Qing Dynasty, this pavilion gradually disappeared. It was rebuilt in 2009. In order to respect the historical relics and customs, it is still named "Shinan Pavilion".
