1. Introduction to Exhibition Management

The exhibition industry can not only bring huge direct and indirect economic benefits to the city where the exhibition is held, but also strengthen the commercial and cultural exchanges between the city and the outside world, promote the construction of urban infrastructure, improve the city's visibility and optimize the regional economic structure. Therefore, it has been favored by the world. widespread attention from various countries and regions. However, at present, the relationship between the domestic convention and exhibition industry and related industries is very loose, and the macro-management system and micro-operation mechanism of the convention and exhibition industry are obviously backward compared with foreign countries and Hong Kong and Macao regions; there is also a relatively lack of talents related to convention and exhibition planning, which is not enough to make domestic convention and exhibition healthy and sustainable development of the industry.

In this context, the Central Institute of Vocational and Technical Education (CIVTE) of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China In cooperation with the China Association of Software Technology Parks (CASTIP), we launched the CIVTE professional competency certification exhibition management course, and drew on the curriculum of the exhibition major of the University of Las Vegas (LAS VEGAS) in the United States. Based on the actual development of my country's exhibition industry, a practice-oriented and distinctive exhibition course has been launched. Through learning, students can become familiar with the development process, current situation and trends of exhibition management at home and abroad, and can independently engage in exhibition planning and exhibition planning in certain engineering fields. Assessment, exhibition planning and monitoring, exhibition financing, exhibition procurement management, exhibition contract management, etc.

2. Exhibition management certification levels and curriculum settings

There are currently two levels of exhibition management for CIVTE professional competency certification: standard level and advanced level. The detailed introduction is as follows:

(1) Standard level

Main contents of the course: Introduction to convention and exhibition; Overview of domestic and foreign convention and exhibition development; Market analysis and marketing management of the convention and exhibition industry; Organizational structure and operation management of convention and exhibition enterprises; Design and operation management of convention and exhibition venues; Convention and exhibition project management and brand building ; Convention and exhibition human resource development and management; convention and exhibition e-commerce management; convention and exhibition customer relationship management; convention and exhibition logistics system construction and management; convention and exhibition business tourism management.

2 Exhibition Practice

Main content of the course: exhibition industry and exhibition economy; exhibition classification; exhibition industry management; pre-exhibition services (exhibition planning, exhibition recruitment and group organization, liaison and negotiation, contract Signing and management); in-exhibition services (customs declaration for exhibit transportation, exhibition layout, exhibition publicity and public relations activities, booth services); post-exhibition services (exhibition effect evaluation, customer tracking services).

②Class Hours

The total training course is 48 hours, including 18 hours for the introduction to exhibitions; 24 hours for exhibition practice; and 6 hours for the mock exam.
