In early autumn, I accompanied my friends to visit Changbai Mountain and made a detour to Wudaogou.

I went to Changbai County once more than 20 years ago. At that time, the road leading to Changbai County was very narrow, basically gravel roads, mostly built on cliffs. If two cars meet, one of them must stop by the cliff before the other can pass carefully. Especially in winter, all vehicles must wear snow chains, and they may be buried in the bottom if they are not careful. Nowadays, the road conditions have been greatly improved. Not only has a flat and wide asphalt pavement been built, but expressway is also under construction. We walked slowly along the mountain road, enjoying the scenery and listening to beautiful music, and we were very relaxed.

Because it's our first time to go to 15 Daogou, I don't know the situation there. Keep giving "vaccination" to friends from other places along the way, so that they don't expect too much from 15 ditch, lest they be disappointed at that time.

No matter what northerners do, they are always rude. There is a kind of landscape that dares to challenge Jiuzhaigou, also called "fifteen ditches", which is a bit vulgar and less poetic.

At noon, we came to a small village near the mouth of Shiwudaogou, and local friends arranged for us to have lunch in a small restaurant on the roadside.

There is a fishing rod idle by the stream, and there are more than a dozen small fish in the bucket next to it, which is obviously obtained by someone fishing here. Perhaps because of the lack of the impact of the stream, the fish in the bucket seemed very calm, and they didn't realize that they would be delicious on people's tables and swam leisurely in the bucket. I don't know if it's out of sympathy, or if I hope the fish can return to nature, look around and fish them out with my companions and put them in the stream.

After dinner, I packed my things and went into 15 ditch. As soon as I entered the ditch, I suddenly felt a chill.

Shiwudaogou is a part of Swan Scenic Area in Changbai Mountain. The main vein of Changbai Mountain consists of Tianchi crater and Wangtian Mountain. Mount Emei in Wangtian is a huge volcanic pile, and its center erupts and overflows. Due to the various landforms formed after the eruption of Changbai Mountain volcano, the whole mountain range is criss-crossed, with numerous mountain springs and abundant water flow. The famous Tumen River, Mudanjiang River, Songhua River and Yalu River all originated in Changbai Mountain.
