Why did I buy three jade bracelets in Yunnan? ——Detailed travel routines explained through personal experience

There are surging rivers and quiet snow-capped mountains;

There are blue skies and different kinds of red flowers;

But at the same time, there are The most expensive soy milk in China, the cheapest tour group and the most sophisticated tour guide. Yes, this is Yunnan! At this moment, I am leaving Kunming and ending my six-day and five-night trip to Yunnan. At an altitude of 3,000 meters, it is the best time to look back when bored.

1. Why did you buy three bracelets?

Before the trip, my mother specifically told me not to buy jade when going to Yunnan. In the end, I bought jade bracelets. I bought three jade bracelets. It is definitely not buy one and get two free. On the plane, I met a local old couple from Kunming who were going to Shanghai to take a cruise to Japan. The old man said that the bracelet I spent two or three thousand yuan on probably only cost one thousand yuan! Three tears during Qingming Festival, bloodshed has been completed.

Although I had already guessed the ending, I just didn’t expect it to be so soon. I bought the bracelet at a jade market in Shangri-La. Please forgive my ignorance. I didn’t know that Shangri-La was originally called China and Myanmar. They don’t produce jade, but they are famous for jade! Unfortunately, what I bought there were three jade bracelets. The bracelet was carefully selected with the help of our trusted tour guide.

The tour guide claimed to be an original Tibetan in Shangri-La. He was originally an authentic farmer. After graduating from high school, he worked as a gangster for a while. After receiving the help of a noble man, he went to a temple to study for two years, and then became a tour guide. He is less than 30 years old, only 1.6 meters tall, with a loud voice, bright eyes and full of aura. I have always been in awe of Yunnan tour guides, but he gradually broke down our guard and became a trustworthy friend.

Routine 1: Sincerity

When the group members saw the tour guide for the first time, their faces were solemn. He asked everyone if they came to meet their enemies. Everyone laughed unconsciously. He introduced himself to us, then informed us of the taboos of Tibetans and taught us greetings in Tibetan. He also did not shy away from the Yunnan tour guide incident mentioned on the Internet. He said directly that he was different from others and that his style was sincerity. At each shopping point, his rebate is only 2-3%. His salary of 800 yuan comes from the tourism bureau. The basic salary of a travel agency is 3,000 yuan. The average income is 6,000 to 7,000 yuan, and the highest can be tens of thousands.

Routine 2: Filial piety

A cook who cannot drive is not a good soldier, and a tour guide who does not understand human nature is not a good soldier. The tour guide asks you to consume, not for yourself. Buying jade is for investment and financial management, for the safety of your family, and for the local economy of Yunnan. Yunnan people should have three bracelets throughout their lives. One is given to parents when they are born, one is given to husband when they get married, and one is given to children when they are old. So, I only have three bracelets, one was bought by my husband, and the other two were bought for my mothers. Once the big hat of filial piety comes out, basically all Chinese people will be covered. Who would say that one's parents are not worthy of filial piety! However, if you calm down and reflect, does filial piety have to be a bracelet?

Routine 3: Mutual help

In the short life of a tour group, the tour guide is most taboo about communication among group members. He gave an example of an unreliable group member carrying drugs, so that group members only trust him. he. On the first day, the tour guide takes you around the scenic spots, drinks and sings for you. On the second day, the opening remarks are: What did I do for you yesterday? As a friend, he also has pressure in life and needs us to help him complete the target and at the same time, help the local Tibetans. . We can't let the travel agency lose money. Such a good tour guide doesn't have a job. You don't need to buy too much. It only costs about one thousand per person. Finally, once you buy it, you won’t be able to keep it! Please don't blame others, it's your own hot-headedness.

2. Why sign up for a tour group?

Before traveling, my friend specifically told me to go to Yunnan and travel independently. In the end, we joined the group and participated twice.

Routine 1: The tour fee is cheap

The reason for joining the tour in Dali is that the tickets are expensive. We took the B&B owner’s van from Dali Railway Station to the ancient city. We arrived in Dali at 6:30 in the morning, but the sky there would not light up until about 8:30, and the owner of the B&B was already at the train station soliciting guests. He said that if you check in, you will ride for free, and if you don't, you will be charged 5 yuan per person. It looks like a very good deal. Along the way, the owner of the B&B acts as a tour guide. If you say you want to travel freely, he will tell you that the road is under construction, the wind in Xiaguan is too strong, and the scenic spots are too far away, etc. After arriving at his house and taking a look at the room, he started selling day trips. We had done our homework beforehand and knew that the ticket price for the Erhai cruise was about 120 yuan per person, and the cableway in Cangshan was about 90 yuan, but he gave a discounted price of 100 yuan per person.

There is a twist here. At the beginning, he promised to take us to various scenic spots: Erhai-Cangshan-Baixi Town, fully enjoy the tour, and tickets were included. He said that the price was 238 yuan in the off-season, and the original price was 388 yuan. We counter-offered to 180 yuan, but he still seemed unhappy. There were five of us, so the two of us paid first. After paying the money, he said he would take him to a souvenir shop and make sure it was done within half an hour, and he would never force consumption. This is so different from the image of integrity he has established with us before. In the end, I can only say that he looks sincere even though he is cheating. However, I have already collected the money and there is nothing I can do. We went to the ancient city to wander around. There was also a one-day tour operator in the ancient city. Knowing that we were a group of five, they said that it would be all-inclusive for 500 yuan. We said we signed up with the owner of the B&B, and he said that in the end everyone would transfer it to a travel agency. No matter how we signed up, it would be the same.

We quit because it was too bad, so we went to argue with the owner of the B&B. He was unwilling to refund the money and said nonsense that the tickets had already been issued. In the end, he compromised and charged 500 yuan for the five of us.

The weather was good that day, the sky in Dali was blue, the snow in Cangshan was very moving, and the wind in Erhai Lake was gentle. Because we were wary of routines, although the tour guide also took us to two shopping spots and spent nearly 3 hours visiting the shopping spots, we didn't buy it.

Routine 2: Attentive service

Be sure to remember one sentence. If you are deceived, you will not be able to escape the first grade of junior high school but the fifteenth grade. When the owner of the Dali B&B asked us about our itinerary, he also gave us the contact information of our friend in Lijiang and said that we could contact him when we went to Lijiang. After we arrived in Lijiang, we thought we would always need accommodation, so we contacted him. It was said that he could bring us into the ancient city without any maintenance fees. In fact, after 6:30 every day, the ancient city itself does not require maintenance fees. The landlady in Lijiang was very enthusiastic at first, but because we wanted to go directly to Shangri-La the next day and didn't book a better room, she immediately became awe-inspiring. It was also through the help of the proprietress in Lijiang that I booked a two-day tour of Shangri-La.

The routine this time is completely different. The boss lady in Lijiang said that she was only responsible for calling the people from the travel agency for the Shangri-La two-day tour so that we could talk directly. About half an hour later, a young man from Sichuan wearing Tibetan clothing came over and explained the itinerary and scenic spots. He emphasized that Shangri-La's scenic spots are all on the road. There are dedicated Tibetan tour guides who also provide oxygen and down jackets. We wanted to sign up for a pure play tour, but he didn’t recommend it. He said that if we came back to buy specialties, there would be no place to buy them and the tour fee would be too expensive. Boutique tour groups are good. They visit the same scenic spots as pure tourist groups. That is, the tour guide will take you to two shopping spots, which means you can visit one place a day for about an hour. There is no problem if you don’t buy anything. It is better to believe that there are ghosts in the world than to believe the words of people who recommend travel. This is absolutely true. In fact, on the second day in Shangri-La, we visited two shopping spots at once. We set off at 8:30 and didn’t have lunch until 2:30 in the afternoon. We spent a full 4 hours shopping!

Regarding the items in the shopping point, the listed prices are the prices brought by the tour guide, and the actual prices are about 20% of the listed prices. Therefore, if you want to shop, you must go freely and never let a tour guide take you! Don’t think about taking it over to have a look and then buy something that suits you. When you have a compassionate heart to help the tour guide, when you hear from your group friends that you are buying for your family, when you enter the store and see more salespeople than tourists... your bottom line is used to break through.

Tour groups are rampant, and the distance from local attractions makes traveling inconvenient. However, I pass by many places under construction, and I believe it will be much better in the future.

3. Why travel to Yunnan?

Along the way, we met all kinds of couples traveling to Yunnan. Yunnan is definitely the "Holy Land for Lovers", and it is also the most challenging place for relationships. In Dali, we met a niece who came with her aunt and cousin for a trip, but they eventually parted ways; in Shuanglang, we met a girl who packed her luggage and mailed it alone; in the train, we met a black-faced girl who said her husband had nothing to do with her. The wife who is willing to buy...

Maybe Yunnan is complicated enough, and there is always a "trap" that suits us. Maybe Yunnan is pure enough. It is so beautiful and dazzling. The blue sky, white clouds and snow-capped mountains really make you fall in love with the great rivers and mountains in an instant.

Also located in the west, with the same sunshine and agriculture as its backbone, Yunnan always reminds me of California in the United States. Why can't Yunnan be as rich as California? Are provinces that do not develop secondary industries doomed to poverty? Are the people of Yunnan guarding this poverty for us? The purpose of writing this article is not to stop everyone from going to Yunnan or spending money. It is just to let everyone see their own weaknesses, which will be magnified in Yunnan.

Please don’t be afraid to go to Yunnan, there are more honest people there. We were in a restaurant and asked the local-looking waiter if the maca wine here was worth drinking. He looked back around tactfully and signaled us not to buy. When we were dining at a northern restaurant near Lijiang Old Town, we met a couple who came from Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province to open a restaurant, and they said the air in Lijiang was really good. When we were riding along the Erhai Lake, many local people organized themselves to pick up the rubbish thrown away by tourists on the Erhai Lake.

Although I bought three jade bracelets at high prices in Yunnan, I feel that the trip was worth it! Life is not easy, so don’t follow routines, don’t take advantage of others, and respect others.
