3. Qaidam Basin

brief introduction

4. Chaka Salt Lake

brief introduction

Chaka Salt Lake is a famous natural crystalline salt lake in Qaidam Basin, and it is the "mirror of the sky" in China. Its salt output can be used by people all over the country for about 75 years.

There are many salt sculptures in the scenic area to watch, and you can also take a small train to visit the depths of the salt lake.

Visitors can walk barefoot to the lake, watch and photograph their reflections. If they are lucky, they can see the mirage formed on these rivers during the day.

If it rains for several days, the salt layer in the lake may be diluted and dissolved, and the silt below will be exposed, so you can't go down to the lake to play.

Chaka Salt Lake is located in Chaka Town, Wulan County, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, about 298 kilometers east of Xining and 70 kilometers away from Heimahe Township. It's about 5 kilometers from the town to the salt lake. There is no public transportation, so you can only walk or take a taxi. The taxi for the guests will stop at the intersection of Salt Lake City.

6. Qinghai Lake

brief introduction

Also known as Ku Counord, Mongolian means "blue sea". Located in Qinghai Lake Basin.

It is formed by the fault subsidence between Datong Mountain, Sun Moon Mountain and Nanshan Mountain in Qinghai. The continental climate of the plateau creates different beautiful scenery in four seasons.

Erlangjian scenic spot on the south side can take a boat trip to the lake; On the west is Bird Island, where hundreds of thousands of birds can be seen and photographed from April to June every year. To the east of the lake is the beach.

Mainly for scenery and entertainment, including the famous Sun Moon Mountain and Daotang River. There are treasure beaches, atomic city and other scenic spots in the north.

9. Crook Lake-Tuosu Lake Nature Reserve

Sun Moon Mountain 10

brief introduction

Located at the junction of China monsoon region and non-monsoon region, it is the natural dividing line between the inner and outer basins of Qinghai Province.

Because the mountain is red, it was called Chiling in ancient times. In Tibetan and Mongolian, Sun Moon Mountain means the sun and the moon.

According to legend, Princess Wencheng cast precious mirrors on two mountains, with the afterglow of the sunset reflected in the east and the rising moon in the west, hence the name Sun Moon Mountain.

To the east of Sun Moon Mountain, there is a landscape bordering the south of the Yangtze River, and to the west, there are endless grasslands and flocks of cattle and sheep, which are the scenery beyond the Great Wall. The contrast between the two sides is rare in China.
