Wutai Mountain Airport is located in Wuweizhuang Village, Hongdao Town, Dingxiang County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, with Hutuo River, a tributary of Linhai River, in the south and air billow Mountain, a branch of Wutai Mountain in the north. It is a military-civilian airport expanded from Shanxi military airport.

Wutaishan Airport was expanded into an air force airport, and the flight area was designed according to 4C standard. After completion, the annual passenger throughput of the dock area will be 350,000 passengers, and the cargo and mail throughput will be 1570 tons, with an estimated investment of nearly 500 million yuan.

The design target year is 2020, with passenger throughput of 350,000 passengers, cargo and mail throughput of 1570 tons, aircraft take-off and landing of 4,550 sorties, the longest route (Sanya) with a voyage of 2,463 kilometers and a flight time of 2,463 kilometers.
