In recent years, Thailand has become a popular destination for tourists from China because of its geographical location and convenient visas. According to statistics, in 20 16, the number of Thai tourists to China exceeded 9.8 million, an increase of 1 1.97% compared with the same period in 20 16, bringing over 520 billion baht (about 1047 billion RMB) to Thailand. During the Spring Festival in February 2000, 654.38+200,000 China tourists visited Thailand, setting a historical record.

With the increase in the number of tourists to China and China, various local security incidents have also increased:1October 29th and February 5th, 201kloc-0/65438, two citizens drowned while playing on the beach in Koh Samui, Luo Yong County, but died after being rescued. In the first half of 2000, there were 37 cases of robbery and theft of China tourists' property in Brilliant District of Bangkok and Pataia, chonburi province, many of which were car robberies, and 1 China citizen was injured. In June 2000, two China citizens were killed in a motorcycle accident near Lampung Province, Thailand. On July 5, local time, a shipwreck occurred in Phuket, a tourist resort in southern Thailand. Three sightseeing boats carrying nearly 140 tourists from China and Europe capsized in the big waves. At present, some people have been rescued, but dozens of tourists from China are still missing.

So, if you are in Thailand or have plans to go to Thailand, what preventive measures should you take?

1. Traveling with a group is relatively safe.

Travel itinerary, quotation and contract samples provided by the tour group, and sign a formal contract. They are all mature routes designed by professional teams certified by the Tourism Bureau. Don't blindly sign up in an unknown small travel agency. After departure, visitors should remember the name and telephone number of the tour group, that is, the leader.

2. Personal safety is the most important thing

The public security in Thailand is generally good, but there will be savages or thieves in some sections. Take care of your personal belongings and valuables, and don't expose them. Password protection of domestic credit cards is mostly ineffective overseas, so it is necessary to pay attention to the security and custody of credit cards. Try not to carry a handbag when going out, and don't carry a bag on the side of the road. Try to reduce going out late at night and don't go to remote or complicated communities. Keep copies or electronic versions of important documents such as ID cards and passports in advance. If property and documents are lost, report to the police immediately, obtain the filing certificate issued by relevant departments to apply for compensation, and go to the China Embassy in Thailand to reissue the documents.

3. Wading safety

There are many beach leisure projects in Thailand, and there are also many wading accidents such as snorkeling and swimming. Don't be conceited, don't go into the water where there are waves or undercurrents, don't go into the water in dangerous areas such as reefs (such as red flags), don't go into the water after drinking, and don't act alone. Swimming in the hotel swimming pool should be carried out during opening hours and equipped with lifeguards. Snorkeling requires simple training and correct use of equipment. Old people, patients with hypertension and heart disease (recessive) should not snorkel. If your companion is drowning or injured, you should ask the lifeguard nearby for help and call the police immediately. Poisonous capuchin jellyfish have been found in Phuket, Pipi Island, Zhudao and other sea areas, and their toxins may be fatal when they are serious. Please be careful when playing in the above sea areas.

Safe boat ride

There are many shops in Thailand that offer motorboat rental services. Before chartering a boat, be sure to ask about the motorboat insurance, the validity period of the insurance and the proportion of individual compensation; Check the motorboat for old injuries, and take photos to keep the certificate; Sign after reading the charter party; Return the ship face to face, with clear handover.

The price of a motorboat exceeds 654.38 million+Thai baht. If there are scratches, please make reasonable compensation according to the contract and insurance clauses. Don't panic if the claim is high. First, communicate with merchants through tour guides. Call Tha after the negotiation fails.

If you choose a regular tour boat company, you should ask whether to buy insurance and the scope of claims before signing up. When going out to sea by boat, you must obey the instructions of the staff, strictly abide by the safety requirements, and wear life jackets to prevent collision and injury. Don't go to sea when the weather is bad.

5. Driving safety

Thailand keeps the right rudder on the left, abides by traffic laws and refuses drunk driving and fatigue driving. Thailand's "motorcycles" are fast, passengers are not protected by helmets, and there are many motor vehicles. There are no traffic lights at some intersections. Slow down and drive carefully. Equipped with GPS map of Thailand, be familiar with the route in advance if necessary, and don't be in danger of overtaking because of following the car. Be sure to buy local traffic safety insurance in Thailand, at least the most basic traffic compulsory insurance. This kind of insurance is available at the port of entry, but it only covers the injured, not the vehicle. Visitors are advised to upgrade their insurance level appropriately. Driving or renting a car (including motorcycles) in Thailand requires an international driver's license or a local driver's license in Thailand. To apply for a driver's license in Thailand, you must have the legal right of residence in Thailand (long-term residence or short-term residence is allowed, except for landing visa and tourist visa holders). There are indeed cases in Thailand where border officials allow people with China driver's licenses to drive into the country. However, driving in Thailand with a China driver's license is not protected by Thai law. In the event of a liability accident, the driver will bear the corresponding risks and responsibilities. When renting a car, you should find a regular car rental company and ask about the terms of the car rental contract to ensure that the vehicle insurance is effective. Take care of your carry-on luggage when taking a taxi, and write down the license plate and driver's license number to prevent it from being difficult to trace without proof after the accident.

6. Food safety

Thailand has high temperature all the year round, and its eating habits are different from those of China. Don't drink too much. Eat in a regular restaurant to prevent unhealthy diet and diarrhea. Carry a convenient medicine box with you, and prepare common medicines such as Huoxiang Zhengqi water, antipyretics, band-aid and iodine. Patients with chronic diseases should carry drugs with them.
