The Measures for Quarantine of Entry-Exit Personnel of China Customs clearly stipulates that from 20 12, the prohibited items are sea cucumber, bird's nest (bird's nest), abalone, shark's fin and hippocampus. Bringing bird's nest into the country is a smuggling act. When inspected by China Customs, they will be forcibly detained and fined up to 5,000 yuan.
