What is the difference between overseas travel insurance and aviation accident insurance?

First, the insurance content is different.

1. Overseas travel insurance is a 24-hour comprehensive emergency rescue service, which provides insurance coverage for accidents, medical care and rescue services provided by nationals traveling abroad, visiting relatives and friends, and going abroad for business trips.

Aviation accident insurance is aviation insurance with air travel as the subject matter of insurance, and it is a kind of property insurance (aviation insurance itself is a kind of property insurance). When the insured aircraft is damaged due to natural disasters or accidents, resulting in personal injury or property loss to a third party or passengers on board, the insurance company shall be responsible for compensation.

Second, the classification is different.

1, there are five main types of overseas travel accident insurance:

(1) Travel accident insurance,

(2) Traveling to personal accident insurance,

(3) Travel accident insurance for lodging tourists,

(4) Travel accident rescue insurance,

(5) Travel emergency rescue insurance.

2. Aviation accident insurance

(1) Fuselage insurance: the insurance that the fuselage and its accessories are compensated after they suffer losses;

(2) Air transportation insurance: the insurance that the goods transported by air are compensated after suffering losses;

(3) Aviation injury insurance: the insurance for the crew and passengers of an aircraft to get compensation after accidental injury. Under normal circumstances, air transport insurance and air injury insurance are insured at the same time;

(4) Aviation liability insurance: insurance that causes personal injury or property loss to third parties unrelated to flight due to aircraft accidents, also known as third party liability insurance. In addition, there are various international insurance businesses involving aviation. The maximum compensation for passengers, luggage and cargo by airlines in most countries should comply with the provisions of Warsaw Convention 1929 (see Convention on International Civil Aviation).

Third, the requirements are different.

1. According to the regulations of Schengen countries, from June 1, 2004, all short-term visa applicants must purchase overseas insurance when submitting their visa application materials to prove that they can guarantee the hospitalization expenses and repatriation expenses abroad. The insured amount shall not be less than 300,000 yuan (i.e. 30,000 euros).

The insurance period shall not be less than one month, covering all Schengen countries (business visas require the insurance period to be 30 days). A visa can only be issued after the passport and insurance policy are submitted at the same time.

2. Aviation accident insurance is a voluntary personal accident insurance, and its insurance period generally starts from the insured boarding the aircraft door of the flight departure station indicated in the policy and ends at the aircraft door of the destination.
